  • hello all,
reading about all your roast dinners that are being planned is making me hungry.
i like living on my own most of the time but i would occasionally like to sit down to a nice roast dinner with other people.

still i have my bottle of wine (more for me :) ) and last weeks frozen SC casserole.

    Cheers

Hello everyone hope you are having lovely sundays. Math im sure the week coming will bring some better news for you and your family. :)

Well I am feeling virtuous today (i must be to be posting on here!) I have done 2 lots of washing. My bedding is on the line cos its actually quite nice here today and I hate having to get my king size quilt dry in the TD - it just curls itself into a little ball and stays defiantley wet! For this reason I only wash my bedding in the spring and summer or on unusually nice days in winter :D (joking honest!)

    Hey and catch this one
I have a chilli in the slow cooker for dinner (come on you're impressed aren't ya!!) granted I did buy a bottle of chilli sauce from asda (getting less impressed i can tell!) but its good for me. 995v.gifit also has spinach and chick peas in it cos i needed to use them up so actually its probably not a chilli at all its a "Nelski Special" There is enough in there to feed the vast proportion of Warrington but hey im hungry!10_3_7.gif
Anyway my impressive day does not end there - oh no - I have also started to decorate the spare room - chocolate and cream mmm hope its looks as nice as it should taste!

Brekky was a bowl of Special K
    Lunch missed that one
Dinner Nelski special in a fajita!

Well its not a roast Graham but you can have some rather "odd " chilli if you like!
  • thanks Nelski,
I never make chilli without chick peas in - as long as they are from a tim - never seems to work if i try the over night soak with dried chick peas. i also throw in a tin of sweetcorn. I think next weeks SC meal is going to be chilli now :)

    Cheers

PS - I used to go for lots of nights out in warrington 10-12 years ago - my mate used to live just accross the road from Mr Smiths - although we never went in there :)

Nels - how come you've got an OK day? I'm 30 miles up t' road and it's only in the last 1/2 hour that the mist has lifted. Kids have been playing outside and come in soaking cos there's that mizzle stuff :D

Talking about coming in - why do I bother cleaning carpets. Bad enough that DS1 has ground in wet mud into the hall carpet, but when I looked at our bedroom carpet after Mr TM had left this morning - he'd been putting on his shoes and has scraped a 6 inch smear of black boot polish into the carpet - which I shampooed on FRIDAY  Kidz - you expect it even if it drives you mad - but a grown up? Grrrrr (And he's the one who doesn't like to wear shoes around the house - just from his wardrobe to out the door!)

Now - anyone know where I put my clean white tablecloth? That's the trouble with using plastic kid-friendly ones, I s'pose :D

    Aft'noon all.

Went to ikea and bought plenty of storage jars so my drawers and cupboards are now looking remarkable neat. I had to clean the cupboards and drawers all out though cos there was odd broken pieces of pasta and rice and lentils scattered around due to my slapdash replacing bag in the cupboard actions - im hoping I wont have to do that again!

I also managed to buy a pestle and mortar because ive been watching too much uktv food and thought that it was an essential kitchen tool :o , It looks pretty but I dont quite know what im going to use it for yet. I got a basket to put on top of the kitchen cupboards for storing things like bogof flour (6 bags!!) and the remaining bags of things I forgot to buy more jars for (semolina and spaghetti). Also got a wardrobe light so I can see what im trying to put on in a morning without waking boyf up and a desk organiser drawer set thingy so I can put all my random paper/envelopes/stamps/postcards/pens in too. Im hoping that means that I will stop leaving so much junk around now that I have 'places' for everything.

Ive made some chocolate lime muffins but they dont really taste of lime or chocolate as I didnt put enough flavour in, they are nice though and ill freeze them for breakfasts. Chicken is also now in the oven and am about to prepare potatoes stuffing and veg, and do something interesting with the more frivolous veg purchases to go with the leftover chicken for work lunches. I also bought a mango from lidl as they were really cheap and need to find something to do with it, but I made a :o mistake, I was watching chings kitchen, saw the mango dessert and thought, mmmm that looks nice, went to the fridge to get it out and start, :o and realised I hadnt bought a bloody mango at all!! Ive bought a bleedin avocado and I HATE them!! :o I must have been having a massive blonde moment.

So now I have two kiwis and the awful avocado and I have no idea what to do with them. Idea's anyone?

    Jo xx

2 washloads done today and either hung outside or on airer. Floors swept, all house basically tidy and clean. Stairs have been hovered and DD has cleaned her room...miracle!! She also cleaned the Dyson as it was really filthy where OH has been sanding down etc doing her room. There is so much dust ATM, but I have wooden floors and wooden blinds:rolleyes: Fire hasnt been on today so have saved a little money there. Also have a huge pile of ironing. DW will be put on after dinner.

OH not well at all and has been on sofa all day reading his OU books and course info. Im quite worried about him actually as he's rarely ill. I think we are going to sit down and put a film on after dinner.

Chicken is cooked and roasties are doing. Just put the yorkies in and veg on. Stuffing cooked. There will be enough chicken for HM pie or curry.

Really need to clear out my bathroom cupboard this week and see how much stuff is in there, probably wont have to buy anything for another year or so and will be re-stocked soon as mates are going back to USA in June-so will get all me favs then:D

Anyways, Id best go as Im starving.

Have a nice evening. Hugs to all people who need one.
