I'm hoping you can help me! BT have contacted me & offered BT Vision (Gold package), landline rental, 24hr free landline calls-including to 0845 & 0870, broadband, & Free setanta, Free connection & Free hub for a 47GBP per month which is almost half what i'm paying at the moment. Whilst this seems a bargain - i'm keen to know what the quality is like as I would be tied in for 12 months. BT have assured me the only difference between what they are offering & sky is that they dont do multiroom - which isnt really a problem. This price sounds too good to be true. Please let me know what you think of the quality, performance & reliability etc. Thanks,

If your line speed is below 4 meg then avoid BT Vision.( bt say 2 meg but trust me i learnt from personal experience and it was a pleasant one)
When BT vision works it is a fantastic idea and great to use but when it goes wrong it is a complete mess and ruins your internet connection.

The offer is correct however and is quite cheap if the package suits your needs.

    In response to eveyone else

BT option 1 in an LLU area is £7.33 if you recontract for 12 months. BT option 2 is £13.24 and option 3 is £15.16 .

You have to be out of contract to get ithe offers

Other thing is that Sky broadband is faster / reliable than BT if Sky is one of the LLU in your area. BT include 0870/0844. Sky have more channels than BT vision. You dont have a dish infront of your house.
  • While you are negotiating with BT on their broadband prices ask about your line rental. I just mentioned the increase they have just announced and they offered to knock £2 a month off that as well, along with sending me a new hub and phone for entering into another 12 month contract at £15.16 for Option 3.

i have installed bt vision today, when i ordered the bt vision box, my broadband speed was 6.5 megs, but the last week it has been hovering 1.9, today even 1.7, so was not expecting much luck with bt vision, as heard so much about this you need at least 2.5 megs to use it, what bit do you need the fast speed for, as since i have set up my bt vision, i have so far experienced no problems, and i have watched a few of the on demand programs already, TIA Dave

Please can I just ask, did you get option 3 for the full 12 months at £15.16? I am looking to change to BT and have looked at their website - normally it's £24.46 for 18 months! Will ring them tomorrow to try and haggle, but just wanted to check details first. Thanks:rolleyes:

As i said BT Vision wrecks your internet connection hence you were getting 6.5 meg before vision. you now have vision it works fine but you now have 1.9 meg instead of 6.5 meg for normal internet use.

but the i only recieved the vision box and installed it yesterday, the test i did that gave me 6.5 megs was nearly 2 weeks ago, it has only being since i ordered vision that it has dropped to 1.9 megs, so how can the vision be responsible for the drop in speed, or do bt put something on your line as soon as you order vision,, Dave
