    Not a shop, but do you remember Alpine - they use to deliver bottles of pop and were really cheap!!

    When I was young we also had a mobile shop! Made up for the fact that the icecream van didnt come down our street.

    I remember the Alpine pop man and the Schofield pop man!

    Nothing beats the taste of pop from one of those old glass bottles, and the Cream Soda was green ~ just like it ought to be now! :D

    My daughter had an orange United Colours of Benetton sweatshirt and liked the colour. I bought United Colours of Benetton paint in the same colour from B&Q and painted her bedroom in it. At night with the lights on it looked like the room was on fire!

    The Body Shop when it first opened - it was queued out to the doors for weeks and weeks!

    Timpsons the shoe shop was where we were taken for shoes - My posher friends went to Peter Lord's I think it was the local shop for Clarks.

    AT MAys the travel agents.

    James Thin is a more recent buyt much loved absence from our High Street.
