Update 6 February
Unfortunately the free eye test has now been closed and replaced with a half price offer. Have a look further down the thread for some other free offers.
A few weeks ago we showed MoneySavers how to bag a free eye test by picking up a copy of the Tesco in-store magazine. This time it's even easier. Just click on the link below, print off the voucher and take it to your nearest D and A to book an eye test. Voila! However don't feel the need to actually use D&A to get your glasses or contacts, grab the test and see...
The voucher's valid until 30 March 2006 and there's no need to buy glasses at the store.

Thanks to Heatherw who has pointed out you can book your test online too: click here

cheersThe word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

The online booking failed when I used it. I had to ring up and confirm my booking with the shop when their confiming Email did not come and then they offered another different dats and time.0

Beware, they want u to buy your glasses from them (as they refused me an eye test because I said I wasn't sure where and what glasses I'm looking for).
Their pathetic excuse was that if you buy glasses from same place then if there's any problems then its a one stop shop to get it sorted!
If u can, have a free eye test and then pop into Specsavers and u can have TWO designer pairs for £125 including standard Pentax lenses.

I've used D&A for the last few years using free vouchers and don't rate them at all personally. They've always told me my eyesight's fine (for my age), but I know it's deteriorated and isn't as good as it could be and have since moved to another optician who's prescribed glasses for reading/close work.
Perhaps it's just my local branch, but I won't be using them again ...Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
I had an eye test with them recently which seemed very thorough but the price of the glasses was more than I was willing to pay so I took my prescription away with me. I'd had trouble finding nice frames anyway - only wanted them for reading as I wasn't prepared to shell out at the moment for my expensive everyday photochromic rimless ones. However I know now that my eyes are healthy which is the main thing I wanted to know.0

They should not of refused to give you the free eye test using the voucher as it states on the terms of the voucher that the reduction (Free Eye Test) is not dependent on the purchase of a complete pair of glasses (frames, lenses & professional services)0

This is great news. I tried to pick up the magazine in Tesco with the voucher, but they had run out of magazines.
I'll be skipping my way (or not) along to D&A this afternoon.0 -
