I had my free test at D &A and found out I only had mild shortsightedness, phew!
However, I did get the hard sell on the glasses but politely declined as they wanted me to pay almost £200 for them!

Went a bit further down the high street to Boots opticians and got a nice pair for £30 all in :D
Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!
    Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945
    Smoke free days = 11 Years :T
Cash saved so far = £125,45,11

    Update 6 February

Unfortunately the free eye test has now been closed and replaced with a half price offer. Have a look further down the thread for some other free offers.

A few weeks ago we showed MoneySavers how to bag a free eye test by picking up a copy of the Tesco in-store magazine. This time it's even easier. Just click on the link below, print off the voucher and take it to your nearest D and A to book an eye test. Voila! However don't feel the need to actually use D&A to get your glasses or contacts, grab the test and see...

The voucher's valid until 30 March 2006 and there's no need to buy glasses at the store.

Print off a free eye test voucher
    Find your nearest store

    Update 31 January

Thanks to Heatherw who has pointed out you can book your test online too: click here

Looks like they have changed the offer to "Claim your online vouchers to get a Half Price Eye Test and an Extra 10% off glasses".

Does anyone still happen to have this voucher? Would really really appreciate a PM if you do :o

Me thinks you will have to live in Scotland permanetly and be registred with a GP to get your free NHS eyetest ?
