ROFL. I was looking in the mens section. LOL. Couldn't find any that were discounted. LOL. Silly me.

I think I am off to Leeds again on Thu, so will have a quick look then. Do they have stuff in them too or just empty ones?

OFF TOPIC: Searched high and low for a snowsuit/all in one for my almost 1 year old nephew. Can't locate a single one. Been to Boots, Sainsbury's, Patch something or the other, Mothercare, Adams is now shut. Where else is there I can get one? HELP! My nephew is 1 next month and I want to get him a really nice one. Ta muchly.

Have you tried M&S? or a Dept Store. Maybe House of Fraser or John Lewis?

Try Zara, the bigger stores have a kids section and they are very reasonable (suprisingly) it will probably be sale stuff, as most shops are bringing in their spring collections now. Also try Debenhams, M&S, Ethel Austins definately had some, dont know if you get them up North. Also try Peacocks, usually have kids stuff and Gap will probably have some sale stuff from winter too. HTH
You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. (A.C)
  • Actually, I'm prepared for a couple of dozen people saying they need cheering-up, cos I've got so many suitable gifts! :rotfl:

Paid £4.40, less 250 points voucher for the Hand & Foot Collection (£20), in the 75% sale with my discount. So in Boots logic, cost me £1.90, which was great! :j

Gave this to a friend a couple of weeks ago, for her birthday, which was yesterday. Just had a very l-o-n-g text thanking me and saying how marvellous it was, what a lovely gift, I shouldn't have spent so much etc.

Now should I feel guilty, cos I had spent less on her present, than she'll spend on my card, or pleased with myself for being a good shopper?
  • Can anyone tell me what the mailings are, and how to get them?

    Hiya
I've never had any, so last week I rang customer services + said I never get any mailings, so she added me 2 the mailings list... I have had some e-mails off other companies so far .. just waiting til boots send me something :D

They had loads of these last week, all gone now. But I'm sure if you asked one of the OTT SA's that flounce around the Men's range, they would get some more from somewhere if you wanted them. Where abouts were the FCUK washbags you saw at £2.00? Looked high and low for them, didn't see a single one.

Which one is the Merrion Centre?

Forgot to say, saw a NAKED MENS or whatever it was set at Crown Point in the clearance section.

    snipped from mimi...

Know EXACTLY who you're refering to there mimi:rotfl:

Merrion Centre is where Morris**s is (outta the top end of St John's Centre & cross over road). Small Boots at the far end of centre. HTH

1 x £2 FCUK bag on shelf last week...none today tho'

That was my NAKED MAN you saw at Crown Point lol I returned 2 of them on Sun hoping to buy them back with the Sun vouchers, but the SA repriced them at double to what i'd paid for them originally so didn't bother.
  • Re the S & G minis, they will not scan. You have to ask the SA to over-ride the till, and you must be patient, cos this can often take ages! Which is why, once the SA has the hang of it, it's probably worth your while to put through a few at a time.

When I told BV I had bought 3 on Saturday, but used 3 separate tills, she said "why?", and I don't know why!!!

This is going to be something else that is going to be great if you put half a dozen in a bag and give as a little cheer-up pressie, or as a something extra to put in a Birthday or Christmas hamper, give to Bazaars, OAP homes, refuges, the poor ......................... the sick ................... the needy ........ young ......... old ..........

+ the school raffles + teachers gifts for when children break up for term, etc :D

Oh yes, someone asked (Piccasso?) about returned items being put on a gift card. Sweetie, you just have to be firm. You say you will obviously be buying Boots stuff cos that's all you can buy with it, but you haven't sufficient time today to look round, so could they just put the amount on a gift card please.

This use to be the case but now Boots do not refund onto gift cards without a receipt.
I understand where you're coming from they can't spend it anywhere else but Boots, but this has been the policy for a while since i worked there and i would hate for customers to think they had this right.
The manager would have to authorise it.

Also if the person doesn't have time maybe they should return the item when they have more time?

  • Apologies this is chat but SandraScarlett you're post was fantastic!! Reminds me of trying to get SKMS Snr into bootsing (who is now officially more addicted than I am but isn't always brave enough to try some of the glitches and voucher combos!). Also thanks for all the info on all the stores - was toying with the idea of going to some of those stores 2mw but don't think I'll bother with some!

Again off topic but does anyone have any good recommendations for creams or solutions to use for psoriasis? Many TIA :D

You could try Dovonex (not a steriod) either as a scalp solution or cream, but it is only available on prescription.
Oilatum, do a range of products you can put in to your bath/ shower/ wash your hair with,
that makes your skin softer and less itchy.
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream is similar to certain prescription products and does help heal the skin. HTH :)

    Hiya Sandra
I feel that way too + I guess I will probs feel the same when I am your age.. if I buy a good quality birthday pressie for £5 but was on offer from £20 for when DS goes to a kids party, I feel just the same then = guilty ... + as well as any other pressies I buy for people but what I normally do is if I am going to pay out x amount of money for someones pressies then I pay it regardless how much I save eg if I will spend £75 on pressies for 1 person then I always seem to spend that much regardless how much extra I have saved, so that person could get £200+ or so worth of presents. I don't really downgrade my amount of spend to equal the true value, cos if I even think about it then I just feel guilty for not spending the right amount of money. sorry but we are good shoppers but my way of thinking is just different from most people but that's just me lol. xxx
