Apologies this is chat but SandraScarlett you're post was fantastic!! Reminds me of trying to get SKMS Snr into bootsing (who is now officially more addicted than I am but isn't always brave enough to try some of the glitches and voucher combos!). Also thanks for all the info on all the stores - was toying with the idea of going to some of those stores 2mw but don't think I'll bother with some!
Again off topic but does anyone have any good recommendations for creams or solutions to use for psoriasis? Many TIA0 -

Went out today with a friend who is a BV (Boots Virgin!), and doesn't even have a card! She wanted today to be a Boots Learning Experience, so I said I would be her tutor!!
We met at Chancery Lane, and found a little cafe doing cappuccino and an almond croissant (yum, yum!) for £2. It was empty. For the next half an hour I took BV through glitches, vouchers, 3 for 2s etc etc.
I had printed out 6 x S & G vouchers for her, and got her started by giving her these and some of my Wrinklies, but suggested that anything she decided to buy of any value, that was made by Boots, she put through on my card as she'd get the 10% discount.
Whenever I go out with a friend, we always split every coffee, meal, snack etc straight down the middle. Because I'm the one providing the vouchers for the 2 for 1 meals, or cheap theatre tickets, I'll usually find that the friend wants to buy me things, but all I'll take is one cup of coffee, cos I'm having a much better time being in good company and laughing than I would on my own.
Also, if I walked along the road, laughing hysterically, I'd get arrested!:rotfl:
Shop 1 - Chancery Lane. BV bought (in separate transactions) 3 x Time Delay Sunshine Gradual Tan, with SP15 Moisturisers. The cost of each was £5.86, less my discount, less the wrinklie - 27p to pay, so nearly £18-worth of stuff for 91p! :j
Then we walked along, in the rain, chatting, as you do, until we came to:
Shop 2 - High Holborn. BV bought three John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum, I think they were £1.97 each, so with the other part of the Wrinklie, there was nothing to pay. :T
Then at noon, we went for lunch at the Little Bay Restaurant Farringdon. This was on the news on Friday, because for the month of February, you only pay for drinks and beverages - and then you pay what you think the meal is worth!!! This is their Credit Crunch Price Buster.
I phoned to book a table, but explained we were pensioners, and would not be able to pay what the meal was worth, but what we could afford. "That's what the promotion is for" I was told. So ................ we both had Crab Tartelette (note the french spelling!) with salad, and a lovely sauce, followed by Fillet Steak, with Potato Rosti, and Spinach, and finished with Chocolate Bavaroise, with Passion Fruit sauce, and cream, and a cappuccino.
We had a jug of tap water with our meal, and when the bill came it was for ..... £3.80 - the price of the coffees! I gave the waitress £15, for both of us, and said that the food was delicious but this was all we could afford, and would she take her tip out of that, whatever she wanted to, and fill in the food cost on the bill, as she felt fit.
Then I booked to take Dee, before we see Thriller, and when we left, the Head Waitress opened the door for us, and said "Don't keep apologising for what you've paid. Some people pay more than the true cost, some pay about the right amount, and some leave 50p and we rarely get a tip!" For all I know, they might have put down that we'd pay 50p, and hadn't left a tip, and then split the rest between themselves. And good luck to them!
Full of good food and cheer, we then walked to St Pauls, in the rain, and whilst walking along, I gave BV a quick tutorial on wombling, clearance, Pantene, Herbal Essences etc. She learns fast!
We walked into Boots at St P, and the first thing BV found was a wrinklie in the baskets. "I've wombled" she cried! Several people looked at her, and then looked away quickly. She then proceeded to buy another JF serum, and another Time Delay thingy, all for 27p.
Then she found some Herbal Essences for 87p, and explained that though she wasn't going to buy any, that if she had a card, and bought 10, they'd cost her £8.70, but she'd get £10 back in points, and was that right? She was so pleased when I told her she'd got a gold star! :T :T
Then we went to Oxford Street, and when we walked in, we were given a voucher for £5 off when you spend £25, to be used at: Sedley Place (Oxford Street), Bluewater, Victoria Centre Nottingham, Westfield Centre Derby, The Fort Birmingham, and Dudley Street Wolverhampton.
I gave BV some S & G vouchers, and we had the refusal/call a Manager/this can definitely be used statement from me - and eventually he over-rode it, and BV did this 6 times, all in separate transactions, paid £1.20 and gave me 3 of the minis, and said "those are for you, least I can do!" So that was Shop 3.
Whilst we walked round, I pointed out the Olay GWPs, and the SS tills, and BV, who was now on a high, put an Olay Cream Wash for £5.86 in her basket, 2 GWPs, and said "let me try, but you stand next to me".
She gave the loitering SA a brilliant smile and said "I'm learning this and get flustered if I'm being crowded, but be sure I'll call you if I need help" so he wandered away.
And all I had to tell her was finish and pay, and press coupon etc and she paid 86p, and said "am I a veteran now?"!!! And that was Shop 4.
Then we started Shop 5. I got 3 Sumptuous Bath, and GWP (all of them were 488), and tissues to take it to £25. Then the till took my 10% discount, followed by 3 for 2, followed by the 250 points from my last GWP, followed by the 100 points on No 7 voucher, followed by the special £5 voucher, and I ended up paying £5.50 for the 3 Sumptuous Bath stuff, in Boots logic, plus the cost of the tissues that I'd bought to take it over £25.
Then we did it all over again so that BV could take advantage of this, but on my card, with me providing the points vouchers, and that was Shop 6. On the way out, the SA gave us the £5 tokens again. Then BV took me for a coffee and I felt bad, cos I'd got the points from her transaction! But she said they were my points anyway, and she'd get the 250 points from her GWP, and she was more than happy, in fact she was delirious.
So then we finished our day at Liverpool Street, and BV, who was now getting a bit drunk with Bootsitis, scoured the floor for wrinklies, the clearance shelves for bargains, found the No 7 Pedicure Set, £15, put it through on my card, less 10%, it was half price, she used her 2nd voucher, and had just under £1 to pay! And that was Shop 7.
So I said "In the words of Alan Sugar, when it's the final - you're hired!" :rotfl: :rotfl:
When we parted, BV said she was a little peeved cos she lives out of London and doesn't get free fares, and was now seriously thinking about moving, so that she can get a Freedom Pass!
And I've kept my second £5 voucher to use at Bluewater on Friday! So I reckon that was a brilliant day. BV phoned me on the train to tell me that she reckoned that she'd got £120 worth of stuff for about £14!! Plus a very cheap meal! :j :j :j
Oh yes, someone asked (Piccasso?) about returned items being put on a gift card. Sweetie, you just have to be firm. You say you will obviously be buying Boots stuff cos that's all you can buy with it, but you haven't sufficient time today to look round, so could they just put the amount on a gift card please.
And regarding the S & G, once you've found an SA who will do this, keep the receipt so that if you want to do it again, you can produce the receipt and show that it has been accepted, and how it was done. The £2 comes up as Brand Coupon.
And yes, if goods are faulty, no matter who makes them, it's the seller that you've had a contract with, in this case Boots (they sell - you buy), no matter how much they try and flannel you.
So sorry if I've bored you all, but it was a lovely day!!
xx
Wowser!! What a fab day!! Just wondering if you want to take me next time!!! I could learn loads from you hahaha!! I'm not doing soooo good on my own!!! Will definitely have to pop into London sometime soon!!! Well done & bet you've now started an addiction in your friend!!0 -

I didn't think they sold S&G at that store, because it is quite small. The last time I was there they had quite a good clearance section. Is it still there? TIA:D
The clearance section is at the front and there wasn't much there - jars of baby food, gillette shaving foam (at £3.xx). They also had some of the Elle Macpherson gift sets from Christmas - one was reduced to £17.99 and the other was £10.xx? Didn't seem a good bargain so I left it.
They sell the S&G on the same shelf as the Sanctuary stuff and the miniatures are opposite the clearance shelves.
HTH
By the way :hello:'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'

The Merrion one is the one inside the Merrion Centre where Morrisons is, next door to Peacocks. I never find anything very interesting in there and it is only really small.
The FCUK bags were with all the FCUK ladies bath stuff on the ground floor on the top shelf of the display. They are black with a white pattern on. Can't find a pic of them on .com. Can have a look out for one for you? They are a bargain at £2 on 342, make a great gift.
ROFL. I was looking in the mens section. LOL. Couldn't find any that were discounted. LOL. Silly me.
I think I am off to Leeds again on Thu, so will have a quick look then. Do they have stuff in them too or just empty ones?
OFF TOPIC: Searched high and low for a snowsuit/all in one for my almost 1 year old nephew. Can't locate a single one. Been to Boots, Sainsbury's, Patch something or the other, Mothercare, Adams is now shut. Where else is there I can get one? HELP! My nephew is 1 next month and I want to get him a really nice one. SandraScarlett I loved reading your post!! Sounds like a fab day out and a bargain too.
So you can get the minis with the £2 S&G voucher then? I tried to use it to buy some Foot Cream in Meadowhall yesterday (not my local but was in the area), and it wouldn't scan. SA told me it was cos I wasn't buying 'Skincare'. I said... well what else do I have on my foot if its not skin? but she said it had to skin or bodycare; again I couldnt see how my foot didn't have skin, and was not part of my body, therefore exempt... but I just said I'll leave it then. She was lovely though, put all my shops through separately so I came away with another 4 wrinklies having used 2 skin and 3 hair while I was at it. Now need to write a list of what to use them all on, else I will end up spending more money I don't need to!!0 -

I was in Oxford St store on Thursday last and got 4 Putters ( only had to buy 2 Gillette items - the other 2 went through anyway) and 1 Protect and Perfect Lip thing with a £5.00 acm voucher. There was three Putters when I went in and as I was up visiting my son , who lives one tube stop away, I went back in the afternoon and got another. They seemed to be putting them out as soon as someone picked one up they replaced it. They were on the top shelf of the new Gillette products stand. Needless to say I have none left as son had 2 , DD had one for boyfriends Dad and I kept one for me!! The P & P is for my sis who is coming home from Switzerland this weekend and uses P & P. So glad you tried the Little Bay, I have been to the one near Battersea Travelodge a couple of times and it is a really cute restuarant and the food is good. I have taught my OH about wombles in Tesco and he is quite good at spotting them but will shout out when he gets one!! I found the SA's on the Self Service tills in Oxford Stto be really nice. Wanted to ask if it is worth going to Becton next time I am up. Is there much there? and can you use vouchers there?
There are still £1.00 National Express vouchers about so when the weather improves I may go for another trip. Happy shopping0
