Lol i really wish they did coz i loved them yum yum :rotfl:
  • I saw them in my local Asda today and thought that they were a very good deal. Normally over 3 pounds. They are not the Smartprice ones, so shouldn't have that much water in them! To be honest, I can't afford to buy free range or organic. Would like to give my family meat, fruit and vegetables in healthy meals without breaking the bank. Can just about do it on my budget, but definitely rules out organic and free range stuff. Personally, I am not that bothered about the morals of the issue, as have got more important things to worry about in life.

It always happens that a debate sparks on cheap / free range or more expensive food when a deal like this is posted.

Just remember that this is a forum for deals so thanks to the OP for posting it. Those of you who wish to buy this deal then great, those who don't then also, that is fine.

It is all about the 'heads up' on the deals - you don't have to go out and get them if that is not what you wish to do.

That way, it works for everyone. Thanks all! :)
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

    None left in Motherwell today.

They should put a limit on these things.......3 or 4 max. Buying 25 is sheer greed and obviously means everyone doesn't get a fair chance.

It's always the same with these things-look at the Boots 75% off deals, people were piling 2 trolleys high and blocking aisles...they should have the whole lot taken off them and be banned from future sales.

/me quietly slips down off her soapbox.
I can't look into the future, but the futures where I'm walking to

Just one other point. I always try to buy free range when I can afford it, but right now my job is looking a little shaky, and my partner is having a consulation period at work as they are cutting 80 jobs. He could be out of a job within a fortnight.

Right now we need to save any penny we have, and if that means sacrificing my free range chicken to save my home then that's what I will do. It's absolutly no-ones place to judge me or anyone else.

  • It is a really good deal - why are you all going on about free-range/ethical and Hugh F-W and think because its cheap it must be full of water. Its not free range but is red tractor approved, industry standard, A grade chicken- in my book that is better than the normal smart price chicken. Its the normal chicken they sell at three times the price usually. Its a bonus its on offer so more people can afford to buy it. Stop knocking people who buy cheap chickens, loads of us are on a budget with families to feed.

There is nothing wrong with this very good deal. Leave some for all of us though!!!

Sorry love, but i'm looking after my family, and my pennies.
  • I checked out my local asda .. they had no chicken breasts but i did manage to get hold of that last 2 500g mince for £1 a pack :)

Does anyone have any idea how long the chicken offer is on for ? We have 6 to feed so it would be abit of a treat just to have chicken breast ;)
