I have only one thing to say to that last reply and that is BOLLOX!
The fact that someone wants to take care of his family and has the forethought to be able to do it is obviously outwith your minds capabilities and as such maybe you should learn to keep your thoughtless replies to yourself! Not everyone has the means to go out and buy expensive organic or free range chickens and regardless of people's incomes, freedom of choice has to come into play and they should therefore not have to feel guilty of buying a certain range of chickens if they are on offer. If there is nothing in the shop to say that customers can only buy so many individual units then they have every right to buy as many packs as they deem fit or can afford at that time.
The state of the Banking system has absolutely nothing at all to do with whether or not someone buys cheap chickens from a supermarket. The way it sounds is that someone obviously cleared the fridges of chickens before you managed to get there and therefore have the hump about it!!!
RANT OVER!!!!!!! happens!!!:D0 -
ours has a limit, 3 per customer. makes sense to me, that way everybody can have some. oh, angecull31 - we got 2 packets, thank you very much, and left plenty on the shelves for other people who also have families to feed on a budget. :ANone left in Motherwell today.
They should put a limit on these things.......3 or 4 max. Buying 25 is sheer greed and obviously means everyone doesn't get a fair chance.
It's always the same with these things-look at the Boots 75% off deals, people were piling 2 trolleys high and blocking aisles...they should have the whole lot taken off them and be banned from future sales.

Oh how this thread has made me laugh :rotfl:
1 - i'm told not to buy this chicken, i'm shown a picture of a sad looking chicken, and told that it's wrong
2 - then i'm told that i'm wrong for going to asda early on a staurday morning and buying 25 packets
3 - now because i state that i'm looking after me and my own, were now onto thewhy the banking system is on the brink of collapsing
sorry but me thinks that there is a bit of jealousy because some people didn't get any.
And like i said before, when i left asda there was lots left, and when i went in today there still was plenty.0 -

There are never any deals like this left at my local Asda, so I ordered online and got my four packets of chicken and five packets of mince (Also for £1)
It's an awesome deal and if I had room in my freezer for more than what I bought I may have bought 10+ portions too.
I have no idea why this thread has brought out the moral police.
If you can afford to eat organic/free range all the time, do it. As it turns out, this chicken isn't the worst you can buy, so hopefully some of those who have been scathing will stop with the snide comments.
Thanks for the tip OP, you have saved me a good amount on chicken this month!0 -
Obviously everyone is entitled to buy whatever they want but just so people are aware of what they are buying I'd like to point out that these birds are not kept in great conditions and the farm assured standard states that the stocking density must not exceed 25 kg/m2 which is still pretty packed in IMO. The chicken which is pumped with water also has other chemicals added so the water doesn't just run out. Personally I'd rather eat veg but if chemicals and animal welfare don't bother you it is a cracking deal.
