ours has a limit, 3 per customer. makes sense to me, that way everybody can have some. oh, angecull31 - we got 2 packets, thank you very much, and left plenty on the shelves for other people who also have families to feed on a budget. :A

    Pray tell.....
Did I at any point say that I had filled my trolley full or sod everyone else as it was first come first served? Indeed I did not!

As it happens there was loads in our local store and I only bought what I myself would use.

Another case of someone else jumping to conclusions!
    !!!!!! happens!!!:D

They are off offer now. We can all just chill. :D

Not true from what I can see.

I went onto their website this morning and it shows that they chicken is back up to £3.23 but if you click on it or add to your basket it only goes up in increments of £1. No I didn't buy it, I was merely checking the price of it for my sister before anyone starts again.

I went into the store a bit later on and they are definately still selling it for £1 in there but whether this is just my store or not i'm not too sure.
    !!!!!! happens!!!:D
  • Was going to head out after lunch for some, not sure whether to take the children out now or not. They have been real nuisances every time I have took them shopping recently.

its not that the water is bad for you, its becuase your paying for some chicken which weighs said amount and a percentage of the chicken is water, did you not see the program last night about food and how the supermarkets beef the food up

    I'm sorry but.............

    WHO CARES!

If you don't like it don't buy it, simple innit?

It really annoys me when people moan about deals like this one, there are people who cannot afford to buy top of the range foods. So, offers like this are ideal if you're not fussy. I buy a mixture of foods, some top of the range and some lower end, there are some things I would never compromise on like sausages, I hate cheap sausages. But, if Mr Smith wants to buy cheap sausages because he likes them or that's all he can afford then SO WHAT???

Why do people insist on taking the p!!s. Times are hard, or have you not seen the news recently, redundancies galore in case you missed it!!!!

BTW this post isn't aimed at you, just people in general who always have to moan about these kind of deals! I'm sick of reading the posts. Usually I would bypass posts like yours but it infuriates me.

Went into basket at £1, go into order says £1, yet website now is £3.23...hmmmm

    OMG...personal choice...

I have laughed at this thread,we all make our own choices how we prioratise what we spend our money on.
THe program on how watered up chicken in put me off chicken but thats me..it doesn't mean i think anyone else shouldn't eat chicken.
I don't buy cheap mince as it all reduces down to nothing and swimming in fat but again thats what i like.
My son doesn't particualry like veg so it is all very well saying bulk it up with veg but if he isn't going to eat it then he is going to want something else after so not very cost effective either.
Thanks OP for posting a bargain , this forum is full of bargains, its up to us all which offes intrest us

I couldn't agree more! Especially about the mince.

We eat loads of chicken(water pumped or not ;) ) in our house, we're not red meat lovers so when offers like this are on it's great. Shame I missed it though.

Why do these threads about poultry/eggs end up being a debate about cruelty?

That's what the rant thread is for!

    This is the bargain thread...?

Most of the bargain threads have comments and opinions in them. They would be pretty dull reading if every reply just said something along the lines of "thanks OP, great find" endlessly repeated. If someone posts a bargain about an electrical item (for example) plenty of people will add their opinion on wether it's a reliable brand, is good quality or whatever...

So if some people have the opinion that if you are going to eat meat, you should accept where it comes from and take the responsibility to make sure it has not suffered and has been produced properly - and this might mean paying slightly more for it - then surely they are just as entitled to express their opinion?

Cheap food does not necessarily equal good food and there may be a price to pay in terms of animal welfare, human health, UK farmers being forced out of business, to name just a few of the possible 'hidden' costs.
"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."
