Since when was water bad for you? - Actually if your on a water meter then it's even cheaper :)

its not that the water is bad for you, its becuase your paying for some chicken which weighs said amount and a percentage of the chicken is water, did you not see the program last night about food and how the supermarkets beef the food up

Granted, but I reckon £1 per pack of 2 chicken breast fillets (even if they contain quite a bit of water) IS a bargain. And that's what this particular forum is all about.

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • I'll give it a go - I sometimes cook chicken breast for sandwiches as it ends up being much cheaper than the nasty chewy prepacked chicken slices you can get and at a £1 it's worth trying them out. I got some chicken from Aldi a few weeks ago and that was dreadful - nearly wore my poor teeth out chewing it.
  • buy buying cheap chicken and cheap eggs you are encouraging our society that bringing up animals in these conditions is acceptable.

this is a chicken that will lay you "value" eggs - she will be kept in a cage with as much room as a A4 peice of paper :(

the chicken meat industry is barbaric, even worse than the egg laying hens kept in cages

please think about what your buying

I only buy free range eggs. I'd rather do without than purchase any other kind but I've not got a family to feed on a limited income so I wouldn't judge anyone else's buying habits.

BTW, I'm suspicious about really cheap food so I won't be buying the Asd@ £1 chicken fillets either.

be suspicious, read books like 'shopped', 'not on the label' and 'bad food britain'. food isn't just fuel.

I dont think there was any need to post that picture ..
Some people might not have the budget that stretches to paying £4 for 2 chicken breasts. Plus the chicken breasts that are on offer for £1 are the same ones that usually cost nearly £3.
