I have only claimed that I save money every month. I have also pointed out that other people in a similar situation can also save money compared to the cheapest gas and electricity companies quoted to me in this forum. We even publicly used my own figures to show how I save about £4.50 every month when compared to those "best deals."

You base those savings for yourself based on the rebate you get from a 'unique' cashcard used for spending large amounts on shopping.- card that has many undesirable features.

It is also pertinent to point out that you made the same claims before the introduction of the cashcard.

    An analogy.
I am currently in the USA, I have a first class return flight with American Airlines that cost me £110 (for the taxes).
So folks taking a leaf from UW, you can fly First Class to the USA with Ameican Airlines for £110 which surely must make them the cheapest airline?

No catch other than you have to spend £125,000 on a specific credit card(which incidentally you also pay for), or pay for loads of AA flights.

The difference is that AA sell airline tickets at a competitive price, UW sell gas and electricity at an uncompetitive price!!!!

For you (and anybody with the same spending habits/lifestyle) they clearly ARE the cheapest airline  . Even by your own poor standards of analogies this one is not a good one. If I spend just £100 a week at Sainsburys on food and/or petrol (there are 24 other major retailers included, don't forget) then UWs gas and electricity is the cheapest for me, online/paper/whatever. It goes without saying (but i suppose I must say it!) that they would also be the cheapest for others with the same spending habits/lifestyle as me. The fact that I could then also qualify for free 24/7 calls if I took the very competitively priced, no min. contract phone line/broadband product is a further selling point. Hardly rocket science, is it? I realise the cashback card has rather curtailed your ability to sneer in this thread but let's keep it real, Hugh. After all, you are normally rather keen on telling us all this is a moneysaving site.

We are discussing your company and it was you who proudly claimed:

We are well used to uw reps coming here and making false claims about price guarantees etc - but why bother to make claims about how your customers are treated differently and you make sure they understand what they are signing, then retract it as soon as the actual task is demonstrated to be virtually impossible by virtue of the uw making their contracts so complicated and lengthy?

I was at a meeting a few days ago and a UWDC rep promised 30 people 'she could save them £855 on their bills' Guffaws all round!

These people haven't got a clue and are brainwashed at their meetings - I know because I signed up as a distributor (I also sell proper utility companies!) I was told at a meeting 'not to ask awkward questions'!

I was driving along the M25 on friday alongside one of the UW minis, they look awful! I cant believe they are offered as incentives! lol

Energyman what questions did you ask that were deemed awkward?

  • General questions - to which they were evasive.

Why do they not include the 'membership fee' in the calculation?

Questions regarding rates and the fact that they were not the 'cheapest' as the trainer as trying to brainwash distributors into believing they were.

I was told not to get into discussions re prices and just to tell customers that they were the cheapest!

Like I have stated on numerous ocasions, I live nowhere near a Sainsburys. If I shopped there regularly I would join them like a shot as it would make economic/money-saving sense. Have you joined First Utility yet? ;)

PS I see we have another brand new poster having a go...... I'm sure all of the Big 6 energy companies tell their sales staff to direct potential customers to a cheaper rival if the figures don't add up. I mean, that's how it works...doesn't it, lol? I'm also assuming this new poster who sells 'proper utility companies' hasn't one customer who is paying a penny more than they should be? I'm also assuming none of the naysayers in this thread work for a company that doesn't sell the absolute cheapest product in the marketplace? I mean, if that isn't the case, surely one would have to leave on principle? :p I'm also assuming they have all their friends/family/elderly couple down the road signed up to the very best deal for their usage and regularly monitor it for them? I've said it before, but the hypocrisy in this thread beggars belief.

    Quite!

As Energyman says he only joined UWDC as a distributor a few days ago, he can always return his kit, resign from his distributorship and get a refund on his start up cost. If he contacts executive services, they will advise him of how to do this.

It also does beg the question why this 'new poster' allegedly signed up as a distributor in the first place? This forum needs one of these smilies, lol.

As far as I can ascertain, it's a business-promotion vehicle just like any other business has  Apart from the fact you've got a bee in your bonnet about this company, what's the difference between the UW Mini and most other company-sponsored vehicles?

I'm assuming you prefer this type of subtle promotion? Would certainly look good in your local Tesco car park
