I was at a meeting a few days ago and a UWDC rep promised 30 people 'she could save them £855 on their bills' Guffaws all round!

These people haven't got a clue and are brainwashed at their meetings - I know because I signed up as a distributor (I also sell proper utility companies!) I was told at a meeting 'not to ask awkward questions'!

Out of interest why did you pay nearly £200 to join them in the first place if you dont like their rates. Surely as an long standing Utility Broker you would have been aware of their pricing.

    Quite!

As Energyman says he only joined UWDC as a distributor a few days ago, he can always return his kit, resign from his distributorship and get a refund on his start up cost. If he contacts executive services, they will advise him of how to do this.[/quote]

I have been selling energy for over 9 years - I am independent broker for last 6 years - mainly business. I joined UWDC 3 years ago - I only have 30 customers, because they are not very good and are not the best deal for MY customers. I joined them because in my networking circles there are loads of distributors and I wanted to see what the deal was - pretty poor!

Some of their telecom products are ok and filled a gap in my range of products - the idea of domestic customers signing up directly on line was also appealing (though it never happens)

(I don't look for domestic customers - they tend to ask me)

PS I see we have another brand new poster having a go...... I'm sure all of the Big 6 energy companies tell their sales staff to direct potential customers to a cheaper rival if the figures don't add up. I mean, that's how it works...doesn't it, lol? I'm also assuming this new poster who sells 'proper utility companies' hasn't one customer who is paying a penny more than they should be? I'm also assuming none of the naysayers in this thread work for a company that doesn't sell the absolute cheapest product in the marketplace? quote]

I direct customers to the cheapest (or most suitable) product for them - I sell most of them so it is quite easy to do that as I get sent all of the price lists!

I do have customers who are paying more than they should - many customers are under contract at very high rates (not sold by me) but will be switched to a more suitable product at the apropriate time - also I have sold energy in a falling market so some customers have high rates (but they were best available at the time)

A word of advice, about not feeding ‘The Troll’.

Many of us who post frequently on this forum have him on our ignore list.

The exchange you are having with him is exactly why he is on this forum, to ‘wind people up’ and extract a response; and you will be followed in every thread by insults.

His post are invariable single agenda, unbalanced, destructive and he contributes nothing.

The Utility Warehouse threads are a good example. The whole modus operandi and pricing of UW would be an anathema to anyone who understands gas and energy tariffs.

However he originally chose his pro-UW stance simply because some of the contributors to the threads, with whom he previously clashed, were critical of the company. He sees it as fertile ground for his sport of trolling! You are the latest of a long line of ‘victims’ since he joined MSE last year.

Had those of his ‘opponents’ commented favourably on UW he would have adopted a virulently anti-UW stance.

He is without principle and best ignored.

I'm not entirely sure whether Cardew/Hugh Jeego has short term memory loss or he really is that hypocritical but this is an example of a post he directed at his 'best friend on this thread', Quentin:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=12197163&postcount=15

Now as you obviously haven't understood the point about money-saving, let me spell it out for you - S L O W L Y.

Anything that adds extra cost to a product, means it costs more money for the consumer - that means us money-savers!

So all the commission that encourages 'serial swoppers' - paid via Quidco or the Comparison networks, and the extra staff to handle the new accounts is eventually paid for by us 'money savers'

Have you now got that? I mean understood the implication for money-savers?

If not I will try again.

Simply breathtaking...that whole thread is a great read if you want to see for yourself just how nasty Cardew can get when his ego is pricked.

I'd have joined this site earlier if I knew what fun you have here!

Does being new stop me having an opinion or from being allowed to express them here?

I am a UWDC 'distributor' / customer as well as being utility broker / consultant - I feel I can speak from both sides of the fence and all that I have posted is true and valid.
