Horace, that's great about the troosers!!! The carwash sounds like it will be excellent exercise. :D Well done on resisting the chocolate too! Just to clarify - when you say 'since cutting back' do you mean on chocolate or food generally?

I am eating again  , jam on crackers this time... I think I might have a tapeworm!!! Dinner will have to be a very small portion of whatever OH is cooking and then no snacking for the whole evening.

Anyway. Haven't quite hit the half stone challenge but am down to 12 stone 4lb :) (Was 12 stone 8 at beginning of Feb)

I weighed 62.1kg this morning  that's 1.4kg (3lbs!) heavier than yesterday. Argh! Maybe those who say you shouldn't weigh daily are right...

SDH, congrats on your loss, 4lbs so far in Feb is great going!!!! :)

nickynoo, thanks, I know you're right. Well done on the 1lb loss btw!!!!! :D

So far today I've had 4 oatcakes (190 cals), a boiled egg (80 cals) and 150ml bio yogurt (80 cals). Lunch will be a lean bacon roll - I'm eating a lot of bacon this week as I got some really good stuff at the butcher's and need to use it up! Dinner will probably be a sarnie on the way to the airport, ha ha!

I'm going to the gym at lunchtime and am going to really go for it today, maybe try to stay on the treadmill a bit longer.

  • tara - we r right lol. Go for twice a week.

Not been on much but been pretty good actually. Walked 4 miles yesterday and Wednesday and aiming for the same today again... get that damb activity level back up again!

I've been having a freak out today.... realising how much weight I still have to loose and looking at the yucky stretch marks... I have been wondering... when I get to the weight I want, I will have lost 3 stone.... would perhaps push for 4 stone max... will I get saggy skin? I have this dreaded fear of saggy flappy skin on my arms and legs and its really freaking me out! Ok boobs and belly r never going to be the same care of a baby and the very tops of my thighs got pretty stretched with the weight i put on with DD, but my arms and rest of my legs wont look like carp will they? ahhhh whos lost loads of weight in here and can advise lol

EmmyLou, what age are you? The younger you are, the more supple/flexible your skin is so you should be ok. I'm sure someone else will know more but HTH anyway.

  • Hi All,

Tara - you absolutely HAVE to stop weighing yourself daily, there's no point cos we all fluctuate so much. Even weekly weighing can be misleading. Many people I know say that the best way is if clothes feel looser so maybe just measure your waist/hips etc once a week instead? Not daily :D !!!

Also you're probably hungry cos you're eating oatcakes and not proper food. They sound so dull - what about ryvita with salmon slices or mackerel and salad or something instead? Even ham isn't bad or anything....

BTW - what's considered young enough to not sag? I'm 30 and once I do lose all this excess weight, I need to attack my stretch marks (no kids to blame either LOL!). Anyone got any tips?

Emmylou - I'm sure you won't sag or look anything but fantastic as you lose weight. I always think that people who are generally happy in their own skin (not necessarily overjoyed but content!) give out a very attractive confidence which comes across as natural beauty anyway so just smile away babe!

Horace - the car wash sounds like really good fun and it will of course be exercise too, for the body and the eyes methinks! Firemen are lush ;)

Nickynoo - well done on losing the lb - your diet and exercise sound great too. Keep at it, if nothing else, you're guilting me into being better!

SDH - 4 lbs is fantastic - how much do you want to lose? Well done and keep it up!

So March is nearly upon us guys - who's setting up the next challenge? I'm making resolutions already:
    1. Determined to go to the gym AT LEAST 3 times a week
    2. Keep food diary and generally eat better
    3. Be more active
    4. Spend less (keep money diary poss)

I want to see a noticeable difference by the end of next month - have my own birthday and a couple of parties/wedding as an aim so here goes!

    Hugs to all,
    NTL
    -x-
Melt 7 lbs in May challenge - aim to lose 7 lbs :o

    Starting weight: 150lbs (10st 10lbs / 68kgs)
    Current weight: 147.7 lbs (10st 7.7/67 kgs)
    Ideal weight: 125lbs ish (8st 13lbs / 57kgs) :j - would love to be 8 stone something!!!
    Realistic aim: 132 lbs (9st 6lbs / 60kgs)

NTL - I know, I really ought to weigh 2x per weeks instead of every day!!! :o I can't weigh this weekend as I'll be away, so will weigh in on Sunday night and then midweek.

You are not going to sag, I promise! ;) Just keep exercising while you lose the weight and your skin will be elastic enough to snap back into shape with you.

I went to the gym, I feel soooo good! I did a little longer on the treadmill, split into 3 segments with resistance/weights in the intervals. I burned 355 cals running alone, yay me! :D

Oatcakes are actually very tasty!! :rotfl: I might try your Ryvita idea, thanks. Maybe we should post healthy breakfast/lunch ideas here too, obviously low cost as we are trying to be MSE!

I already keep a spending diary and an annual budget spreadsheet, seeing the bigger picture really helps me cut out discretionary purchases. Do it, even for a month, you will be amazed! I must think about March targets, might start a food diary. I started a fitness diary just this week, here it is (it doesn't count s*x although that is a good workout too, LOL):
