Well done on the 5k at a time, Leothecat! And also the restraint with the sweets. You have a lot to be proud of (incl. giving up smoking and sticking to it).
I agree that this thread is an inspiration. I really appreciate hearing about everyone's struggles, difficulties and slips - and how they overcome them. It helps me enormously.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Horace - very random with the ex!?
Plzhelpmesave - you are becoming my dieting advice guru - you speak a lot of sense! And don't be worrying about those biscuits - sometimes needs must! And with all the added exercise etc that you're doing, you're making some very good changes for the long-term!!
Tara - 20 mins running, especially outside, is fantastic imho!! I couldn't even manage 5! And don't worry too much about the ice-cream - it's only 1 night, and today's a new day! And if your leg's hurting, don't even think about going to the gym - or you'll end up not being able to go at all!! If it makes you feel any better, I've only managed to go once so far this week, and will probably only manage once or twice over the weekend!!
Jemjam - Cream Eggs at this time of year are a necessity!!You have to make the most of them while you can - and if that's all you I wouldn't worry - a little of what you fancy does ye good!!
Leo - I'm in awe of your restraint!! Any pack of sweets that comes my way, rarely lasts more than 5 mins - I hardly even get the chance to taste them I eat them so quickly!! And well done on giving up the smoking! That takes a lot of willpower - if you can manage that, shifting the weight should be a doddle!
as for me - I won't fit in much today, I'm off through to Edinburgh for the night with my lovely boyfriend as an early valentines celebration (he's working tomorrow!). And I won't even be thinking about dieting or exercising - oh - and I don't intend to feel guilty about it either!!There's a few cocktails and some lovely food shouting my name - and I intend to answer!!
I'll try at least go for a swim tomorrow, and try avoid the hangover munchies - but we'll see how it goes!!
have a good Friday everyone - I'm away to wash off my fake-tan, and go get my hair cut!

Dragon, that has GOT to be a major blip in the system, that cannot be right! Maybe you have fluid retention. Weigh yourself again tonight and tomorrow morning and see what happens.

Dragon -big hugs the scales lie! I have decided to only weigh myself on Tuesdays at 2pm as otherwise my weight is all over the place and it makes me miserable. In other news i'm having a bad day, am sat here with a packet of biscuits and large bottle of coke, trying desperately hard not to eat them. I know this is not the place to write this but i'm in need of venting, my mum looks after my sister (44) who has cerabal palsy, in recent years she has started to become slightly strange as in talking to herself and forgetting things (names, places, the year!) and in the last year it has turned into becoming quite aggressive last night she totally flipped out and attacked my Mum (who is 70) pulling out chunks of her hair and scratching her face quite badly. My mum has gone to the GP so many times and said she needs help, but as she isn't even registered officially as a carer they keep turning her away saying things will improve. She's gone again this aternoon to ask for my sis to psychiatrically assessed but i'm not holding my breath. Do you think if i wrote a letter to the GP expressing my concerns it might help? Sorry guys i know it's off topic, but it's stressing me out

dazzle - yes I think you do need to write to the GP or Social Services - is there a reason your Mum is not registered as a carer (as your sister obviously needs one) - did your Mum go to A&E? because they could contact the GP as well possibly.Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Because it's only since my Mum claimed a pension that she really needed a carer social services say she can't be 'a carer' but nor willl they provide one unless my Mum pays for it which doesn't seem right as until now my sis has always had mental capacity. It's so frustrating and a bit frightening, i feel useless as i'm sat here with my ds, as i obviously am not willing to put his safety at risk. Thanks dragon, i'll write the letter this afternoon, just wanted an impartial opinion xAugust: £149/£150

dazzle, I second Dragon's advice - write to them, they are there to help and you and your poor mum shouldn't be going through this alone.

Dazzle - definitely write that letter this afternoon. Your sister is entitled to a care package - if your mum was not able to be her carer, she would have this in place. That is really bad service from your mum's GP - she obviously needs support and this is how you can help her. So, get writing now - firm, polite and to the point! Your poor mum (and sister).
Dragon - so frustrating getting on the scales and they show such a jump. I agree with everything said here - only weigh once a week at the same time each time.
Not been too good food wise today. Lovely porridge for brekkie and then lasagne, coleslaw, waldrof and potato salad for lunch! Had to, dad was paying so would have been rude not to partake. Thank goodness I am running today at 4.30pm so hopefully not too much weight gained. Am also hoping that I'm not too hungary come tea time and I'll just have cereal or something.0 -
Leothecat, don't worry too much about what you've eatn, as you say you are going for a run and can adjust what you eat at dinnertime. Good luck!
I wasn't able to go to the gym today, my leg is a bit wrecked - so I have eaten a lot less to make up for it (had less appetite today anyway for some reason, maybe I am still feeding on the ice cream!). Just yogurt, an apple and about 6 oatcakes. I'm going for dinner with friends this evening (Indian - but will stick to something tomato-ey) and going out for a lovely V Day meal with OH tomorrow so I'm sure there will be lots of calories consumed!!!!
dazzle - let us know how you get on xoxoGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
