Horace, weird is the word!! Well done you for being so strong. :T

crapwithmoney, that is quite poignantly funny about the scales! :rotfl: Bless him! And congrats on doing sooo well yesterday, you are great! I bet you feel proud. I am taking inspiration from you and going running after work, even if just for 20 minutes.

The meeting lasted the whole of lunchtime (typical), I was itching to get to the gym. Lunch will be tuna and bulghur wheat and some grapes. I'm having a quick veggie dinner tonight before going out, just some steamed root veg with tomato sauce and herbs.

  • Tara you are sooooo good :A honestly, don't beat yourself up about the little hiccups - think how interesting they make your life! You do so well with your excercise and seem to eat well overall so the little "blips" should be ok ... as long as you don't use them as an excuse to binge!

Becca - like other peeps have said, maybe try to get your family involved? or if you have the guts, just try doing it in front of them, but try to ignore everyone and just carry on! They may laugh the first time, but hopefully they'll get bored and it'll just become a normal sight so nothing to laugh about:confused: Maybe worth a try?

CWM and Tara - i keep trying to sneak on the scales as well... its so addictive. BUT my Wii fit told me the other day that throughout the day a persons weight changes up or down by 2.2lb!! so tbh, trying to take what the scales say with a pinch of salt now... unless they tell me i've lost weight :rotfl: According to the Wii, my bmi has gone down a whole point since January but i'm still obese, until i knock off another 1 and a half points!!

plzhelpmesave!, that is very interesting to know about the scales!! I will still weigh every morning but maybe only record it once a week to see the trend...

Thanks for saying that I'm good, but honestly I have been eating chocolate on and off and it's not a funsize bar either!! I need to cut that sort of thing out completely or I will never lose weight (and all the exercise will be a waste of time).

That's great that your BMI has dropped by a point, woohoo!!!!! :D

Right, I'm about to leave work, OH rang to say that the play has been cancelled (!) so I will be able to go for a run and I guess we'll just have a nice relaxing evening, maybe get a DVD or whatever. I'm going to look out for some nice lean pork chops at the butcher and make us pork, veg and tatties for dinner since we won't be in a rush...

My friend (the nurse) said I could call in to her practice on the way home to get my 'true' weight so we shall see... fingers crossed!

Well, I went for my run, about 20 minutes in total, with a little bit of walking when my legs were complaining. Not fantastic but I feel proud!! :j We had our pork chops and veg and I am so determined not to snack the rest of the evening.

My nurse friend weighed me, I came up at just under 62kg so it seems my scales are about right.

I just ate rather a lot of ice cream during the DVD... it would be easy to blame OH as he bought it but he didn't make me eat it. I feel ill (and a bit ashamed, I am going to reread plzhelpmesave's post #393 for inspiration).

    :(

  • Tara - just think your ice-cream ws kinda cancelled out by the jog and walk you did earlier - which means that hopefully while that blip itself may not help you lose weight, you probably won't put any on either with just that blip coz you've done enough excercise to allow for it.

I got up early to finish off an assignment i need to hand in today for my course - have had 3 weeks to do it, so of course i'm doing it now and decided to have 3 chocolate biscuits with tea to wake me up! However i'm not gonna feel toooo bad about it, coz i would normally have had the whole packet sitting next to me, so at least that's a big improvement this month!

Need to make sarnies for lunch and planning on chicken breast grilled with moz cheese and spring onions inside, roasted veg and maybe yorkies or garlic bread for everyone else.
Be god on this friday 13th .... and remember just coz it's the weekend don't let it all go totally to pot.... says she who has has 3 biccies and did no excercise yesterday! My sis is a florist so preparing for valentines tomorrow so will be helping her tonight and tomorrow which will probably count as my excercise for the next 2 days.

plzhelpmesave, hmmm, not sure if it would have been even half cancelled out!! I know it's ok to have a blip but they have been too regular for me lately so I am going to have to cut them out.

Annoyingly, I seem to have injured my leg! It started to hurt around the back of my knee last night and I am now in agony... I can hardly walk!! Hope it improves or the gym might be out today... that will mean I only went twice this week. :(

I weighed in this morning at 61.5kg, so back to where I started on 1 Feb (half stone challenge here I come!! :rotfl: ) and 27.3% body fat. Just wait till the effect of last night's ice cream kicks in... I will have to be extra good to make up for it.

You certainly were up early today!!! How is your assignment going?

    Hi All,
OMG - well done on all the weight losses and excercise. You are all doing so well. Ok, there may have been a few blips but by and large we are all climbing back on the wagon. I think having 3 choccy biccys is pretty amazing compared to what I would have had in the past - I would have had those, then the rest of the pack and them perhaps stolen some of dd's chews and maybe a pack of crisps!!!
Anyway, last couple of days have been ok. DH and I recently split up after almost 20 yrs and I have been finding that pretty hard to deal with even though we both know it's the right thing to do. Anyway, sometimes when I'm sitting feeling sorry for myself it seems so easy to reach fr a bar of chocolate or crisps to make myself feel better.
The last 2 nights I've been very good. When I gave up smoking 5 yrs ago, I bought Werthers Originals and they really helped. I bought a pack the other day and have allowing myself 3 each evening instead of stuffing my face. Is working so far so am going to try to keep it up.
Excercise wise, running on Wed and again this afternoon. We do 5k at a time so hopefully this along with the reduced rubbish eating, will make a difference.
Keep up the good work everyone - this thread is an inspiration! Thanks!
