  • WELL DONE DRAGON and ROTHERAMLASS!!! you big losers, you!

Thanks Crap_W_M and all you other guys for your comments on my excercise "regime"!! lol Its the first time in a very long time i have actually done any kind of regular excercise - and believe me, in my world a week counts as regular! - and that is all thanks to you guys!! Did 45 minutes on the wii fit yesterday - only stopped coz the wii said i needed to take a break!!

Charlie and C_W_M - there is a thread about how to get the most of your Wii Fit and people's training patterns if you get a chance to check it out.

Wedding gang and all you wedding guests to be are so great for keeping me, and from what i read most of us, on the straight and narrow. When I read about someone else being good with their food of excercise, it just makes me want to be able to do something good as well. So thanks all of you guys, a week is nothing, but my gosh, it really does make a difference. I ran upstairs to the loo this morning and was schocked to find i wasn't out of breath when i got to the top!

I was thinking yesterday about how many years and months I've been feeling bad about being fat, and then kept eating the same rubbish and slobbing around. Now, I actually think about how much it will "cost" me to eat rubbish... the time spent excercising, the guilty feeling, the clothes i still won't fit into... and think it is just not worth it! The way I see it at the moment is I have pretty much eaten all of the things i like for the past fewyears, so having more pizza, cake, chips etc won't make me or my life better. Whereas NOT having them will, and i don't miss out because i have already had them before, know what they taste like so am not really gaining anything new by not eating them.

Probably doesn't make sense to anyone else, but it kinda makes sense to me, and seems to be working!!! The other thing that helps is constantly reminding myself that most thin and fit people excercise and eat well every day as part of their life and not just to lose 7lbs!! So i have to stick with it to keep it off, so i really am trying to make healthier eating part of our life -not just my life until i lose enough weight.

I'll stop now - obviously had too much sleep or time to think! Last point - finally started TOTM last night, but instead of wanting to lie down all day, have been dreaming about wii fitting... must be good eh??
  • You know I am finding I am sleeping so much better with my daily exercises. I had been waking up after 4ish hours taking ages to get back to sleep and waking up so tired in the morning for months. I put it down to never breaking the habit from when DD was waking in the night (which she stopped doing like 8 months ago!) but the past few nights ive done 2X 6 hr sleeps and last night 7 hrs! Wonderful feeling hehe. Also noticing my energy levels are getting much higher, less sluggish and bouncing about like i used to.

anyways really came on to post this http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc its great for working out how many calories you have burned when walking or doing workouts at home etc. Thought it might help some folk.

WELL DONE LOSERS!! keep up the great work and let the loss motivate you :D
  • Well done everyone on all your loses :j ! All of your posts are really inspiring!!
For the 1st time in ages yesterday I only ate at meal times and didn't snack which I'm quite proud of! It sounds weird but I'm actually starting to feel proper hunger again before I eat, whereas before I'd eat as soon as I felt slightly peckish! I didn't cycle to work yesterday as it was soooo windy but I did do a long jog on the Wii Fit while watching csi to make up for it!!!! Went bellringing on Monday night too which will hopefully do my arms some good, and gets me out of the house doing something different! The only thing is I'm working tonight which means a meal out, usually at Pizza Hut, so I'm going to look for the cheapest and healthiest thing on the menu!

Good luck everyone for the rest of the week. :D

  • littlemmie - how do you jog while watching tv?? i could jog or use the stepper during my evening tv time if i can figure out how to do it

You need to unlock the free step and free jog on the wii fit and then as soon as you start the activity it will tell you that you can switch channels from the av which my wii fit is on to the normal tv channel. Then you can watch tv while the wii remote shouts at you every now and again to tell you how long you have left, how well you are doing etc. It is quite good because you are focusing on something else while exercising so the time goes by so much quicker! I think it allows you to do a 10 min, 20min or 30min jog while watching the tv, not sure on the stepper as I haven't tried it. When you have finished your jog it tells you how many metres you have run rather than your burn rate like on the normal jog. HTH :D

  • Hello everyone! Hope you're all having good weeks so far.
Just back from town and popped in to Wilkinsons. They have loads of exercise equipment dead cheap ... skipping ropes, exercise balls, ab things etc etc. They also have reduced priced low fat foods .. e.g. Ryvita, Weightwatchers soup, go ahead bars etc. And for those of you who love a biccie with a cup of tea they have packs of weight watchers cookies (6x packs of 2) for just 60p! It is only 100 cals for 2 cookies and I really like them. :j
