Yes mate. Beef bourguignon, which is one of the best things I've ever made - it was gorgeous! :drool:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Does anyone have a really nice fish pie recipe ?
i love it , but i am the only one who like's it.and i'm fed up of making it and the family not enjoying it. I have tho loads of white fish fillets and smoked fish portions in freezer. so i was thinking i'll batch cook the fish pie base and then make up indivdulal pies so i can have them just for me.
Does anyone have a really tasty yet simple recipe. i always make it up as i go , lol.0 -
Hi jcr,
Like you I make it up as I go along so I haven't included quantities here.
Any fish ( I use a combination of white fish/salmon/prawns)
Milk
Grated cheese
Hard boiled egg
Frozen peas
Mashed potatoes
Poach the fish in milk.
Remove the fish and arrange in a deepish serving dish.
Add quartered hard boiled eggs and frozen peas to the dish.
Use the milk (that the fish was poached in) to make a white sauce.
Add grated cheese and black pepper to the sauce and pour over the fish/eggs/peas.
Top with mashed potato.
Pop into a hot oven for 20 mins or until the potato is golden

I use condensed musroom soup, fish, some cooked prawns, and add in some peas and/or sweetcorn
For the topping I use mashed potato, sometimes adding mixed cheese with crisps or cornflakes over the top0
