I make a very simple one with a tin of salmon and mashed spuds mixed together and baked in the oven, i serve it with cabbage, sounds bland but tastes delish.

    Hi lolo,

There's a great thread with lots of fish pie recipes that you can choose from, so I'll merge your thread with that one to keep all the recipes together.

I want to make a fish pie, the kind with mashed potato on top. I have some prawns and tuna to go in it, but I have no idea how to make the sauce can anyone help?

It's just a standard white sauce mix,
    25 gm butter
    25 gm plain flour
    425 ml milk

Melt the butter, add the flour, stir in the milk slowley over a low heat

fry off some onion and carrot. Add half pint of double cream, a couple of handfuls of grated cheddar, a teaspoon of wholegrain mustard and some parsley

Thanks, I tried it wth plain white sauce and it seemed abit stodgy so I thought I had got it wrong. Maybe my white sauce is just rubbish :rotfl: Will try your way TNG, sounds lovely if fattening!

I sometimes add a bit of cheese to the mash and some peas and sweetcorn to the fish and sauce, maybe a pinch of dill and parsley

Well, this one looks good, and it's got photo instructions and everything! I must confess, I still haven't got round to giving it a go.
