Having just noticed it, I like the pastel ambience to it, gives off a neutral, clear and not to razzle dazzle feel to it. Its good to give the old site a good "spring clean" now and again
keep it up team.
Errrrr, it has changed back. It is the same as it was. Are you joking? If not, ot just goes to show that people like the old scheme0 -
Webby - why does all the info hoo haa down the right hand side of the forums page need to be there? Could it not be in a different area of the site?
Signposted with a headline block at the top of the page alongside all the other info signposting blocks?
Shifting it would give you more space and things would look less cluttered.
Wasn't it previously at the top, or not there at all? Am sure I can remember it changing (and said at the time I didn't like it!), just can't remember when!
Gone ... or have I?0 -
Ohh.....why is everything so small all of a sudden? The text is tiny and weird and there is a huge grey vertical area at the side after the info stuff I mean.
I'm also missing some dividing lines between threads.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I personally don't see what is wrong with the current layout/colour scheme. MSE isn't a fashion/design website. If its functional and tidy then why does it need to be "pretty?" I quite like that it isn't really fancy, I hate fancy pretencious (sp?) websites. Think happy & you'll be happy

I thought the new scheme did look more up to date and less cluttered, BUT I found it very difficult to read on my laptop, I couldn't have spent more than a few minutes at a time trying to read posts.
I can't quite work out why it looked so white, bright and glaring, as the usual background is white, and doesn't glare. So although I can't put my finger on why, it was just too bright to look at. And it's all very well people saying you could just adjust the settings on your monitor, but really I don't expect to have to do that when every other website I look at is fine with my current settings.0 -

This is exactly how I felt last night, in the end I logged off (apparently just as it changed back  ) Although I liked the quotes being slightly shaded, that lack of definition made it very hard to read, especially as I have only one eye which can make it hard to focus on small or indistinict things (due to lack of 3D vision):rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -

Personally I think just pasing in some small cosmetic tweaks over a period of time would be the best option.
For example, I have been playing around with the Firefox stylish addon I mentioned previously. So I now have slightly shaded quote boxes and lefthand user details panel. But have retained the previous "definition" of the board.
That is just a personal choice on my part.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Very subtle change, but you may see what I mean.
