Just playing with the CSS.
A bit too dark I think......Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

There was just too much colour for my liking but it seems that different moniters/laptops gave different results.
I would probably get used to it and the removal of the boxes and seperating lines was not a problem.
It is your site, do what you have to.0 -

MSE_Webmaster wrote: »Hi folks,
Thanks to MSE Ian, we've returned the Forums back to the old scheme as we were seeing some visibility issues on some monitors.
Having had a look at an alternative, could you please look again now and tell us if there was anything that the experimental scheme had over the current one? We feel that the main Foruim page is too crowded with the heavy borders, for example and the newer look opened up the page a great deal. However, the changes didn;t work quite as well on the post level.
Any further comemnt is appreciated.

My feedback is:
The solid borders might not have appealed to an interior designer, but from a functional point of view they worked very well.
Sure, the redesign looked quite tasteful, but I don't use MSE as a lifestyle statement.Happy chappy0 -

Have you stopped giggling yet?;)
I like the colourful background shading for the quotes in the new version, I didn't like the other changes I'm afraid.
I prefer the definite bounderies/gridlines in the old version, I hope you'll keep them.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give blood, save a life. 0 -
Webby - why does all the info hoo haa down the right hand side of the forums page need to be there? Could it not be in a different area of the site?
Signposted with a headline block at the top of the page alongside all the other info signposting blocks?
Shifting it would give you more space and things would look less cluttered......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Oh thank you, thank you!! That is better!
I honestly couldn't look at it any more and had to log off. I know a minority thought 'the majority' were just complaining because they didn't like change, but it wasn't that. It was the headaches and eye strain, honest!
The old version is much more defined and easy to read.Jan 2015 Grocery Challenge £185.10/£5000 -
Webmaster.....I dont think the forum looks cluttered so I cant really see how it can be made to look 'uncluttered'.
It is smart, well defined and easy to use.....I dont think you can ask for any more than that. And the amount of users here says it MUST be user friendly.
I wish more forums were as well set out as this one.
Its not broken so why fix it?0 -
I liked it, I think the current format looks a bit dated0
