I agree that the implementation wasn't as good as it could have been, and the link on the opening post of this thread seems to have confused some people. For future reference you just need to make sure you regularly refresh https://www.hoxtonhotel.com in the run up to 12pm. If you simply wait for the timer to get to 00:00:00 you're likely to fail, especially if your computer clock is slow (as it's that which the timer is basing itself on).I had two browser tabs open, to the page marked "Hoxton Hotels £1 deal", which was counting down the minutes to 12:00. At 12:00, all that happened was the timer reset. There was no link, no tab, no button to take you to the calendar or other reservations page. IT SIMPLY DIDN'T WORK. That's a scam in my book. It makes me absolutely determined never to stay in such a cr&&&y hotel even if they give the rooms away. Media hype = BACKFIRE in this case.0 -

Can I ask what's the lastminute.com sale?
Also well done to those that got rooms and to those that didn't the only thing u can do is try again next time. Last 2 sales I've missed out but managed to get £29 room this time (not £1 but still not a bad birthday pressie for my bro's 21st!)

Somtimes you'll have to refresh. With hundreds of thousands accessing it, it's not going to be a particularly smooth website. And you can hardly call it a rip-off at £1 a night.

You don't think getting hundreds of thousands of people to sit patiently staring at their advertising, for them to say "oh sorry, our poor little website can't cope with all you horrid people trying to access it at once" is a scam???? If they know the demand is high, they should adapt to cope with it, or not do such stupid promotions. This just creates a massive sense of bad feeling in me, and I will go out of my way to recommend people to avoid this hotel. Is that what they were trying to achieve?
I refreshed several times, and NOTHING HAPPENED. I still got the new counter (that had reset to 24:00:00 and then started counting down). If they haven't got the technology, don't run the promotion online. Amateur hour.
If at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you0 -
Got right to the end of the process for a £1 room then came up connection error room not available
then did the same for a £29 room and got right to the end for a second time! alas same message came up!
Think you've got to have your details stored to have any real chance guess I best sign up for next time!

Well done to all who got a room! :j
It is a lovely hotel and when I stayed there a few months ago with my sisters we asked for a put up bed and so 3 of us stayed for £1.00. Had dinner in the restaurant and it was fab. Good luck to all who got one. They dont really check who you are when you check in so if you cant go you can give the room to someone else. At least the site is not as bad as Boots.com0 -
I managed to get a £29 room after a few attempts. Stupidly I've got one for friday the 27th of March rather than friday the 27th of February. Argh! I'm down in London that weekend and needed accommodation for that specific date. I'm going to get mocked something rotten about this.0
