I think if we are going to reply we should do so to the best of our ability and if we have nothing to say other than accusations, then don't reply at all.
Thanks again.[/qu
Well said seven day weekend , its such a shame though that others just cant to seem to help themselves, instead of just assuming that benefit claimants are ungenuine , i doubt it will change, sorry but i think that some people just seem to get a kick out of it

Thanks everyone, Seven-day-weekend has it spot on. If you can't say something nicely, don't say it.
We need everyone to remember, especially now, that we're going to be getting many more people asking questions on here. Yes, some questions may seem obvious to people who've spent years reading this board, but there are people out there who have never claimed a benefit in their life, most likely already feel absolutely awful that they're going to have to rather than pay their way from a job, and they'll need a helping hand and friendly "face" to guide them along.
Please don't put them off by jumping on them and trying to find holes in their stories!
And yes, I'm posting this because it's still happening since I started this thread.
Andrea.Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Well said andrea but i don't think the people involved are going to take any notice.
This board is getting quite a reputation on other forums as being very hostile towards the sick/disabled and lone parents.0 -
seven-day-weekend wrote: »Well yes, I agree, but if people are ranting about the amount of benefits and/or benefit-bashing, I often refer them to the BG's original request for such subjects to be taken to Discussion Time, where they can discuss Benefits Policy and slag off Benefits Claimants to their heart's content. It's only here on the Benefits Board where we should keep strictly to the rules Andrea has mentioned above.
As for someone saying their money is not enough , as I mentioned above, I'm sure it's OK to point out that in our opinion it is, as long as we do it in the right manner and explain why we think this.
I've heard Discussion Time mentioned a few times - where exactly do I find that? I don't want to discuss Benefits per se - just that I've never spotted it.0 -

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

From an outside point of view, it's probably because people find themselves having to save every penny while working. I can imagine that it can be rather grating to watch some single parent mother with three children talk about all the benefits she claims. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

Hi,
That is the point that Andrea is making, this board is not for discussing and judging, after all there is no need to read it!
This is Martin's take on it.Torgwen..........
