Cesar Milan Illusion Dog Collar

We tried a similar harness to the Mikki Walkrite and it did not make a blind bit of difference in fact the dog pulled that much he ended up with marks on his sides. We also tried the Halti and that did not work. The Choker has not worked either, so my next step was the Illusion Collar. So if you have any tips that would be great.
My dog also goes mad when he sees other dogs, he is just under a year and was a rescue dog.
Have you taken him to puppy training classes? Have you tried distracting him with food in your hand so he walks to heel? Walking in the opposite direction as soon as he sees another dog? Praising him when he calms down?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

They are also signs of appeasement.
Learned helplessness means no training is possible - a bit of a problem if you are a dog trainer by profession!! If you look at the original experiment, learned hopelessness would be a better phrase.
Having had a shufti around the internet I can find no evidence that any dog owner has complained about Cesar's methods, only dog trainers with a different methodology. I personally do not have the type of character for his type of training but I don't see a problem with them from what I've seen.
However there is another thread with this debate on so I won't say anything more, just wanted to reassure the OP that not everyone hates Cesar

I think he is great, he loves dogs, you can see that. A majority are like you who don't like him but more do. Telling people not to take advice from him is unfair, it is up to the individual to make their own mind up.0 -
Don't be daft
I'm not being daft - I'm deadly serious.WARNING: If your dog's neck measures less than 13 inches at the base, or your dog weighs less than 18 lbs, you should NOT use the collar. The Illusion collar is not intended for puppies under one year of age. Dogs with any breathing problems, such as "pushed-in faces" that restrict breathing; dogs with trachea or throat problems, such as Pomeranians; and dogs with elongated, overly slender necks, such as Greyhounds, should NOT use the collar. Consult your local professional or veterinarian for further advice.
If a tool or method is dangerous for puppies or slender necks or pushed in faces or dogs that might have a throat problem why even go there?A dog with a behaviour problem needs help not punishment.0 -
I wouldnt put anything on my dog that is designed to squash their trachea (i.e. their windpipe)...why would I, I like my dog, and dont need to use physical force to train her?
that health warning worries me too WARNING: If your dog's neck measures less than 13 inches at the base, or your dog weighs less than 18 lbs, you should NOT use the collar. I wonder how many people have dogs with minor trachea or throat problems that they are unaware of till they use a collar like this?0 -

Admiration for CM is directly proportionate to your understanding of dogs and dog behaviour and being able to read a dog.A dog with a behaviour problem needs help not punishment.0 -
I use a dog matic on my Mastiff. Good quality and it works.0
