sheng719 - welcome to the thread - hope you've got some ideas we can 'borrow' and you're welcome to ours :j

I'm scratching my head at the minute wondering what I can do with two card index boxes (so cheap couldn't resist them!)- they have a fold over lid which leaves a gap at each side so I can't just use them as a box -9" wide so bit big for greeting cards
Don't know anyone who's into cooking in a big way and all the people I know keep their photos in albums or on disk.
I do know someone doing their family tree so if I get the actual cards to go inside and decorate it she could have that.(handy for reference)
Then I'm left with the other one............... Any ideas for that anyone?

I've also got some pipe cleaners......assorted drk.brown, white and green but not full size................about 3" long............(also so cheap couldn't say no!) so I could do with a brainwave from someone please ??

Mary I would use them as card organisers -put my daily, weekly chores and appointments on the cards - add crafts, special occasions, Christmas organising etc, addresses etc.

Or use them to store toppers made in advance for cards

Angela - Thanks. Just read your post on mels thread and wondered about using them for some kind of organized way of storing some of my card making stuff. It's currently in two box files plus a shoe box (overflowing!) and the large paper is in a concertina file.

My diary is used for day to day stuff -appts and things like that and I've a separate book for birthdays/christmas with addresses and space for who had what the year before so maybe I''d be better off using one for cards I've done and the other for cards plus toppers etc. waiting to be done........does that make sense ?

Mary, hope you enjoy using your box for your cards.

Short pipe cleaners - a site called artists helping children gave me an idea for you - twist your white and green together and make them into a candy cane as a Christmas ornament.

Angela............(hangs head in shame) haven't done anything with my index card boxes yet..........card making drawer is about to explode so I think thats telling me something:rolleyes:

Pipe cleaners..........hadn't thought of that..........I'll see how many I've got. I've got a sort of 'snowman/snowballs' idea that might use some of them and wiith the rest I could do candy canes:j Thanks for that idea

I was thinking of making a book for a friend who is getting married with some 'housekeeping tips' from the OS board and trying to get some of her friends and family to write their 'hints and tips for a happy marriage', any ideas on anything else I can put into it?

sian - lovely idea. You'll get some good tips (recipes, housework routine etc.) from the OS board.
If you want to be practical you could include a section on budgeting (most arguements are about kids or/and money -so I'm told) and a page to keep emergency numbers.......gas,elec.water, hospital, doctors dentists etc.

Few quote might be nice............bound to be some on the internet or have a look at www.quotegarden.com you might find something there that suits.
Can't think of anything else at the minute.

Just took what felt like an age to cover another book with fabric - blessed fabric kept fraying........ Still I did it and then I found some plastic backed linen sort of stuff and covered the inside of the front and back covers of this one and the one I'm keeping -covers up where I haven't folded the fabric over as neat as I should.............lol

Want to decorate the one I did today...........think I'll have to sift through melissa's blog........she's done some lovely ones. Don't want it too ornate as I think I'll give it to my friend to keep as a journal next year.
