  • Hi affordmylife, you are more than welcome. I know there are lots of specific threads for certain crafts but I thought it would be fun to be able to discuss all of them and share some ideas, I had never heard of sock monkeys before I came on here and now I am a little addicted :)

You could start with granny squares which can be crocheted together to make lots of different things, then go on to "square" squares in different patterns, by then you'll be into patterns. A different square each evening, there'll be no stopping you.

Mary I found a cushion that requires no sewing if you have a round pad already or minimal sewing if you have to make and stuff a pad!http://www.allfreecrafts.com/sewing/round-pillow.shtml

This is another no sew cushion... http://jas.familyfun.go.com/crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=11350

Saved this to favourites as someone (think it may have been Sian?) posted the link last year and I loved the idea as it involves no sewing!!!

I would like to say it was me but unfortunately not. I made a no sew blanket for Christmas though, was very warm and snuggly

  • I know this is a bit like cheating, but I noticed in the latest Lakeland catalogue that they are selling 'Instant Hem' and 'Instant Buttons'. Instant Hem is like wondaweb without the ironing and sounds right up my street LOL!

Instant Hem and Instant Buttons at less than £3 for a pack sounds worth a try to me - what do you think?
    Numpties...I'm surrounded by them...save me...

whoever was it who suggested we look at annies attic. oh dear ive been on there for hours.

ive emailed them pleading with them to ship to uk. i think they will have a few customers.

in the meantime i have been on ebay and order a few new knitting patterns for a few projects im now thinking of doing for christmas this year. a gorgeous bed jacket for my mother and stunning shawl pattern that i couldnt resist. oh and a dog knitting pattern too. im not one for dog clothes as such but my sister has a very small dog that does wear a coat in the cold weather so i thought i could knit him something for christmas too. lol.

im going to be very busy.
