Whoo! well done you.
One of the lucky ones, why can't I have a post Christmas windfall like that?
It must be more than the child tax allowance though to get all that. You must have overpaid as well I think!

Hi we called our local tax office about this a few weeks ago and yesterday received a cheque for £7!!! however I am not sure if it is right and was hoping someone could shed some light on it for me, (have tried calling them but constantly busy) we claimed the tax credit in 2001/2 so got the allowance for both years, however we then had another child in feb 2003 which falls into the higher amount bracket, what i am wanting to know is should we have had an extra 529 for that year on top of what we had. On the breakdown letter we got with the cheque we definitely only got a £529 for that year not £1049, I hope this makes sense to someone!!!!
Thanks in advance!!0 -

I am fed up with the tax man they give out what they want. they diddle me every year and each time i have to go to the c.a.b. they are fantastic and ALWAYS SORT IT OUT sometimes i think i should not bother claiming its just so much hassle, the form filling is the easy part. I get £12 a week is it worth all that hassle ? my husband tax code has never changed it has always ended in L so i will try and claim from 03 fingers crossed .......0
