Deals, you are running out of time for this hun! Print off this form and fill it in. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/11ctc.pdf The part at the top of the form is blank (for whatever reason), just write your full name and address and National Insurance number there. And send it off today - 1ST CLASS!

They MUST receive your form by the 31st of January otherwise, if you are entitled, you will have missed out.

My advice to everyone now is that if you are unsure just send off the form, the worst they can say is 'No you've already had it' but if you 'umm' and 'aah' about it you might miss out when you are actually due something!

  • Deals, if I understand your posts correctly your hubby was under self assessment in which case he will have been paid it through SA. If you think he didn't, then you dont use the form the write a letter.

Nikkisun, no I am sure every tax office in the county now has crates of them waiting to worked through, it will take while.

    Hi all,
Just a quick bit of advice
I didn't earn £6000 for that tax year but I know my ex husband did?
When they say Living with them, he had them one weekend a month so total of 24 days of that year?
    Does that count???
At least one of us gets it that way!!!!

This is the telephone number for the Tax Credits Helpline. They are not dealing with this - everyone needs to contact their own tax office!:j

    can i claim for this as i have 2 children ,,, born 1997,,,,,,,,,,, 2000 ...?
never had anything from them... any helpappreciated:money:

Says clearly in the notes that come along with the form, you can only claim the allowance for ONE child, so usually claim for the youngest.

You can also only claim once per couple, although you can ask to share the allowance 50/50 with your partner.

Remember Child Tax Credits are for the there for the benefit of minors, not adults. If you claim money now that you didn't orginally claim then it should be used for something like clothes for whoever was the qualifying child at the time.

Haha... My then child is now an 18 year old, earning more than me! So not bloody likely! :p

Someone at work told me about this, so I sent my form in before Christmas and a cheque for £602.35 turned up today (original amount plus interest), so it's well worth sending a form 1st class tomorrow even if you're not 100% sure if you qualify, as they'll check whether you qualify anyway

  • Hi to anyone who hasn't got their CTC form posted to their tax office yet I work in a tax office and we have been told today that customers can hand their form in to any tax office tomorrow. It will be date stamped and forwarded to the correct office. Please remember to put on your National Insurance Number and other details, a lot of claims are been held up because these details aren't on the forms and each person is having to be traced. This is creating an even bigger backlog. :rotfl:
