British Gas Threats (Please Help)

Pay the debt and move on.
Do you live with your mother? If you do, whoever is best able, should pay. If you don't, it's up to you how much you want to help.
If neither of you can afford to pay, negotiate a payment plan or have prepayment meters.0 -

Hi, I owe British Gas a large amount but am paying them installments when I can. They have sent a disconnection notice to me recently. Can they disconnect if I have young children and am making effort to pay. My children are 12,9 and 4.?
Is it also true that if I have emailed them and they took more than 7 days to respond, I may be entitled to compensation of some kind ? Many thanks.
As a last resort they can disconnect anyone, but they will go through a lot of stages before this happens. Social Services etc.
They normally put people on pre-pay meters first and set the meters to recover the debt.
If these run out of money they will cut off your supply.
