0.9kg should be less than £1.99
My pack was £2.26 for less than 1kg, so being charged more than £1.99/kg.
And this is a store manager!!!!!!!!
£2.26 for 900g is £2.51/kg.-=Mr-J=-0 -

I actually don't think that the R&R policy is directed at reducing the interest of Trading standards in Tesco. Trading standards pay alot of attention to Tesco stores whether they get complaints or not. Thats not to imply they believe Tesco is crooked its more to suggest that Trading standards are very proactive and don't purely rely on customer complaints. One of the key things that trading standards look for when they audit stores is that acceptable processes are in place to ensure overcharges don't occur. The processes we have for stores at the moment are more than acceptable however cockups still do occur.
I believe the R&R policy is in place to try and appease customers who are overcharged. A single customer that goes to another supermarket is worth a fair bit of cash (think how much you spend each year) so we want to avoid that happening. By ending a bad experience for a customer (being overcharged) with a positive experience (oooo I got it free) the hope is that they wont go to another supermarket.
I think I should point out these are my opinions as someone with a considerable amount of Tesco experience NOT the opinions of the company.0 -

After 3 CS people eventually manager turned up. Took pack upsatirs 'to see if it is scanning at 1.99 or 2.49, came back and said 'not overcharging' - you have been charged £1.99/kg.
It then took me several attempts to get her to see that
1kg = £1.99
0.9kg should be less than £1.99

If you think thats bad then feel sorry for the Internal Tesco helpdesk people whenever there is a Vat free promotion on. I used to do that job and you would not believe the number of people who can't do percentages. Its enough to make you weep.0 -
Hi
Can you R&R on internet orders? Had a delivery last night and a BOGOF had not been deducted so I rang Tesco.com and a very pleasant lady went through my order and said that oh yes she could see and would refund me one item. When I challenged this and said that I had been overcharged surely I should get both refunded she turned nasty and said that I had not ordered 2 of the same item so thats why it didn't work. I pointed out that it was a linked offer and it had worked later on some other items but she wouldn't have it and was quite unpleasant.
So I am now waiting on a call back ,am I right or have I got it all mixed up.?

firstly, if a sticker/SEL is lower than another, more recent SEL, then you will more than likely be O/C
secondly, locate the scanner in the store and check. if it goes through at a higher proce than expected, it is an o/c
thirdly, if there are no scanners, but there are self service checkouts, you can always check prices there.
fourthly, if none of the above apply, and you believe you may be o/c at the till, take it to the till. if the product goes through at the lower price, do the old "i've left my wallet at home/on the bus/in the car routine"
hope that helps
PS, yeah if the barcode on the product matches the second half of the SEL barcode, it is the same productMonthly Food Budget: out of the window0 -
How soon after the end date of a promotion are the prices changed back on the computer??0

Surely these people who are preaching morals on here saying that that we R and Rers are a greedy bunch need to get real as my teenagers would say. These people just dont understand human nature. We are just picking up £10 notes that T has thrown around in the wind.
Dont you think T is the greedy one motivated by profit so much so that he displays misleading prices in his stores and then gives us a few RRs to keep him out of trouble with Trading Standards. He has this all sussed out that this leaves him free to overcharge us all. Mr T weighed this RR business up to get him off the hook. I would say he is the most schrewd businessman out there. He destroyed the corner shops and the local garages for his profit and we fools went along with him. He gets away with it by STEALTH and clever advertising just like our friend Gordon. But there, thats another subject.
Actually, it is the public who has destroyed the corner shops and local garages.....it is the pulic who CHOOSES where to shop, it is tesco or sainsbury who simply offer the choice....it is then the same people that bleat on about the demise of the high street that shop in the Tesco Express or the Sainsburys local because it is cheaper.....some people seem to want it all, the high street shop and the lower prices and it just cant happen.Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
