Tesco misprice policy discussion area part III

I tried the Xbox poster trick i.e. your poster states under £30 and we picked up two games which were priced on the SEL @ over £30. Went strisght to C/S who said that the prices on the poster were for tesco online only (in that case why were they displayed in the store?!)
Couldnt b bothered arguing so asked for a refund straight away - which they did. But they refunded me the full price of the games and didnt deduct the 20% and so i effectively got my £16 bag of shopping from them for free!!

Ayrshire_guy wrote:Thanks. It's just that I wouldn't know which items are mispriced in the store and which aren't. Nothing would jump out at me as being obvious. At least not without going thru the checkout with them and checking my receipt. But the whole idea is to know beforehand which are wrong, and without a self-scanner, I'm lost.
Maybe there's a personal, bootleg price scanner that someone will soon invent. :rotfl:
sorry matey ill try and explain a bit clearer how i spot the possible mis prices.
Generally with the larger electrical items there would have been a promotion of sorts were the item is reduced in price. There will be posters up etc. When the promotion ends most posters are taken down, however on occasions shelf labells are left in place so you then have 2 different prices. The product usually (not always) scans higher. so point out the lower price and bobs your uncle.

Wait until someone else posts a misprice and then race to tesco and find the same item. It took me ages to pluck up the courage and have a go but now its just second nature. The customer service people must hate me.Watch out, you never know who is about.0 -

Yes. Go through the till, buy the item, realise you've been overcharged and head to the Customer Service desk. If they offer you the difference point to the sign that's usually behind them saying full refund and you get to keep the product.
Try and find a price scanner in your store so you can ensure it's mispriced compared to the shelf edge label (SEL) before going to the checkout.MFW 2015 #41 = £20,515/£20,515
MFW 2014 #41 = £26,100/£25,000
MFW 2013 #41 = £10,000/£10,000
Original MF date = May 2036 - MF achieved on 15 June 20150 -

In cosmetics (in Extra Stores) I noted that L'Oreal, Mabelline, Bourjois and Max Factor all had products on promotion ranging from 1 -3 quid off certain lippies/mascara/foundation - "offer valid to 28/2/06" - printed on card display surrounds. All scanned at full price using customer scan (i.e. minus advertised discount).
I loaded my basket - only to find that at checkout the advertised discount WAS taken off, although comes up (wrongly) as a "multibuy".
Well I changed my mind, of course about my purchase ( and on a happy note MrT mistakenly refunded 11 quid more than I spent !!)
Has the price scanner lied to anyone else?
Why does this happen?0
