Sorry to be a bit dim but I've read quite a few of these posts and the beginning of older posts and am confused about Tesco's policy.

If you are charged a higher price what happens? Do you get

1/ all of your money back plus the item free
2/ the difference (amount you are overcharged) plus item free

    or

3/ just the amount you are overcharged?

    Thanks
    Titch :)

No 1. All your money back for the overcharged item and the item
  • This Mis-pricing seems like a great idea but I can't seem to make good with it.

The local Tesco Metro did not have 24 season4 Dvd's and the nearest Tesco Extra no longer has a price scanner point(it has mysteriously vanished since I last was in months ago). It would be much more of a risky effort to line up at a till and ask for a price check there. Anybody know how to work this better? ;)

    Good luck to you all!

I'm having the same problems and yesterday waited for 40 mins for refunds as the prices went through right and then I didn't want the stuff (24 dvd sets) as the prices on hte boxes were different than the charged prices and in the ned I was so confused by the SAs that I didn't know what I was doing.

i'd never seen a price scanner till yesterday anyway. Plus search as I do I can't find wrong prices on any meat.

I asked for a couple of price checks today but like you say it is an effort to say you dont want it if the price is correct.

How do things stand if for instance a book has a label on for £8.97 but the sel is £6.97 and thats the price at the checkout, can you argue its the wrong price?

By the way Heartlands book still labelled £2.96 in Hanley Tesco if anyone wants one.

thanks for all help to improve us newbies.

    Hey guys,
All the tescos that i have been to have not had self price checking machines. In this case i only attempt the R&R if 2 conditions are met
1/ I would willing buy the item at the price charged anyway
2/ It is so blatently obvious that the item is mispriced like the sony hifi systems recently listed and cds for example.

or there is the good old faithfull line "oops ive appeared to have left my wallet/purse in the car"

Failling all that just ask a cashier to check the price for you, i would only sugest you do this as a last option as how silly would you look walking back and fore the till with numerous items. 1 offs for checking prices of the larger items is ok, i have done this myself with no trouble.
    Hope this helps.
Watch out, you never know who is about.

    Hi

Does this price policy work online aswell because as I was searching for a Tassimo machine, two of the same appeared but both at different prices - £89.99 and £99.99. The 89.99 one is out of stock (suprise suprise) but the £99.97 one is in stock - maybe this is an overcharge!

    Have a look here

I had a look as someone previously on this thred was on about a Tassimo machine for Forty something pounds and I was a little shocked as I paid £89.99 over xmas and thought it a bit strange that they were this cheap. Maybe they meant the Senseo?

    Thanks

    Hello again,

Just as a matter of interest, what is the best R&R anyone has got?

    Thanks

Thanks. It's just that I wouldn't know which items are mispriced in the store and which aren't. Nothing would jump out at me as being obvious. At least not without going thru the checkout with them and checking my receipt. But the whole idea is to know beforehand which are wrong, and without a self-scanner, I'm lost.

Maybe there's a personal, bootleg price scanner that someone will soon invent. :rotfl:
  • I found the in store price checker scanner and just rubbed the bar code over the screen and nothing happened. Did not want to draw attention to myself by asking T to show me as am always in and out of there for rrs. Can somebody please run me through the works of it?
    Many thanks

The inventor would make a fortune as I would buy one!
