A very polite apologetic deputy manager rung me back.Shes going to investigate video camera footage tonight with manager and is offering me a full refund and I get to keep game. She is going to deal with staff appropriately but I never want to step foot in there again.
Thats great news. I Hope that the person who assaulted you is dealt with quickly and appropriately. If the person you spoke to today is friendly enough keep in touch and find out what happend. What action they took etc. Ask them to write to you with this info.Watch out, you never know who is about.0 -
As a long time Tesco employee I will admit to being pretty embarrassed about this. It sounds like this person really doesn't deserve their job. Sadly as a company I'm afraid we are like any others and there occasionally people doing jobs they shouldn't be and don't deserve. Although I'm limited in what I can do if you can email or message me (I only signed up to the forums today so not sure how it all works) I will happily get the store managers name for you. The best course of action though is the one you already mentioned in contacting the customer service guys at head office. I've had dealings with them quite afew times (and they do take customer complaints very seriously.
I echo these sentiments entirely. The thread does seem to have taken a hostile turn (probably due to fluffs treatment) but please dont let the actions of one CS representative tar us all with the same brush.
Myusernamestaken......if you can get a spare pda then a miracle has really occurred....
In response to those who have said that they do point out undercharges, well done and thank you, however in 13 years I have never had someone say to me "I have been undercharged, please take more money from me".
I would also like to distance myself from the comments of a certain other poster to this thread that claims to be a Tesco employee....we are not all like that. But its comments likeElliebabe wrote:I see that's why you work in Tesco's - you can't spell.
that really sum up the general publics attitude to retail staff and are completely offensive. We are not all uneducated buffoons. :mad:Fight Poverty - Hit a tramp!
I don't exist, it is merely your imagination.

Hi Fluff, have just read through your ordeal and would like to add just one point that may be of help to you. I beleive that head office told you that the issue with their staff was a police matter and nothing to do with them WRONG. The staff in question should have been reported for an internal disciplinary, I suspect the Deputy Manager will look closely at the CCTV footage tonight to see what action she will take. At the least it could lead to a written verbal/warning, or if their actions are clear on film then IMO could lead to a disciplinary on the grounds of gross misconduct. Dont know Tescos staff code of conduct, but there is usually one under the heading of bringing the company into disrepute, I would think that verbally or even in your case physically assulting a customer in full view of the general public would warrant this. Keep smiling0 -

Hi spa2k not at all I meet some very nice cs staff who go out of their way to be helpful and friendly
In response to those who have said that they do point out undercharges, well done and thank you, however in 13 years I have never had someone say to me "I have been undercharged, please take more money from me".
As I have said before in previous posts I also have pointed out undercharges as well as taking cs staff to point out overcharges
I would also like to distance myself from the comments of a certain other poster to this thread that claims to be a Tesco employee....we are not all like that.
I for one enjoy reading your posts they make a real contribution to a good debate [there are two sides to every discussion that is what makes it interesting] which is surely one of the prime objects of this forum. Cheers NannaC0 -
Was in my local Tescos today returning an item to the Customer Service desk. She put some paperwork down to serve me, and i was completely surprised to see that it was a print out of the CPJackson 'misprice' website  While she was serving me she asked her colleague to go and check everything on the list!! I've only ever had 1 overcharge (too shy and nervous to do it regularly!!) but it sounds like some stores are onto us. Maybe it would be an idea to just post the misprices on this website and give the other a bit of a wide birth for a bit?0

I'm sure there is no danger of that. However, it has become clear that many people have suffered poor customer service from Tesco of which this was an extreme example. Although there are many great people working in CS there appears to be an issue with "corporate culture" so that the interests of the customer are not served as they should be.Can I help?0 -

I still think we should log every incident where Tescos do not honour the policy and inform Watchdog. They would jump on such a chance to have a go at one of the top supermarkets.0
