I had a bit of a battle with the coke (boxes say 6.95) SEL says 6.75, she said they were in wrong place, and stated she would remove all the boxes till right SEL's were out - some boxes sated 6.75 others 6.95, but only one SEL

I said that it was misleading, in the end she refunded me my money.....

but did feel a bit intimidated...

I still think we should log every incident where Tescos do not honour the policy and inform Watchdog. They would jump on such a chance to have a go at one of the top supermarkets.

Ah only really fair if you compare the figure to how many times everything goes to plan and policy.

A very polite apologetic deputy manager rung me back.Shes going to investigate video camera footage tonight with manager and is offering me a full refund and I get to keep game. She is going to deal with staff appropriately but I never want to step foot in there again.

flufff : Once the manager confirms the content of the CCTV is accurate as you described, issue a subject access request (Data Protection Act) for a copy of the CCTV footage or at least inform the manager you will be seeking a request under the DPA even if you don't proceed. Don't let them get away with it.

    Don't feel guilty!
Was on the news last week that Tesco earn £1.00 out of every £8.00 spent in this country.
Look at the way they have treated Fluff!

I have to admit this kind of quote upsets me somewhat. Was it the way "They" treated Fluff or was it the way 1 very poor member of staff treated fluff?

Believe it or not there are no discussions at head office over how to screw the customers over. There are no instructions sent to stores to switch off the scanguides (the customer scanners for checking the prices). Believe it or not things don't always go perfectly in the company (gasp!) and thats why some misspricing and other bad situations occur. Please remember that we are a group of individuals doing our jobs. Can all of you out there say that at your place of work everyone is perfect and never makes a mistake or a bad choice?

Yes Tesco does take alot of money through the tills and makes a profit doing it. However everyone who shops there does it by choice and no one is threatened at gunpoint to go into the store.

Apologies to the 99% of you out there who know this stuff and treat us staff with respect. Its just frustrating sometimes when you put alot of work into something yet people pick on the 1 in a thousand time that something goes abit wrong and suddenly you're labeled as some big evil company who don't care about individuals and just want to steal all your money.

Sorry speech over. Oh and Fluff I'm glad to hear that your situation seems to be heading in the right direction :)
  • Heh...just noticed that CPJackson's site now has a thread of its own on the VLH.com members forum! MSE gets a mention, too. Looks like the original OP was trying to let fellow tesco employees know about the misprices in order for them to take advantage!
Only one poster seems to think the people on MSE are taking the mick.

Keane's Hopes and Fears is on 'offer of the week' at £8.97 at my store, a great offer price for an album that's been out for like 2 years! Obviously they have hiked it up from £5.97 as it was scanning at £8.97. Noticed today that a lot of entertainment products fluctuating greatly in price. I bought OC season 2 last week for £34.97, it's now £39.97. Jamelia's CD was £2.97 on sale, now it's £5.97 on sale.
  • I had my first run in as well today at southport (they have always been fine in the past)
I spotted 24 on dvd series 2 & 3 sel were £19.97 & stickers on the dvds were £23 so i thought i had found a new misprice
They went through as £20.97 so I took them both to cs & explaned. She disapeared to check & came back with the none food manager who said I had been undercharged! I pointed out the policy on the poster & he came back with "I know you know your rights as you have noticed things before but in this case the policy does not apply as the dvds arrive in the shop pre-priced"
I said okay & he left. I then asked the cs lady for the head office number & they agreed with me so we got the manager back on the phone & HO changed their story & said in this instance the policy does not apply.
I gave up at that point & asked for my money back

I have had only 1 dealing with the manager before & I thought he was just a sa as he looks so young!

CD's & dvd's having stickers on has never been a problem before.

If anyone else goes to southport can you please check out the shelf to see if the labels have been removed, they had them for 4 series. It was on the bottom shelf on the 1st section on the right.

None of the other misprices were to be had, the cd chart poster had no prices on & there was no ps2 poster

Contact your local trading standards, they will pass it on to the nesasery office I am waiting over the xbox games at walkden, they are telling you the price is £19.97 on the SEL which is misleading you as the price isnt £19.97.
