Evening,
Got home to find DD(12) had done spaghetti bolognese for dinner, which was a nice suprise. DD(16) has hoovered downstairs & also cleaned the upstairs bathroom. Very worrying = she must want something!!!
didn't get a chance to get on this morning but wanted to say to VickyA hope everything went well today & sorry to hear about your dog too ((((Hugs))))) to you.
Hilstep. there's nothing wrong with wanting some security - being in limbo is horrible. Hope you get your stairlift sorted soon too.
PenPin, you must be very proud of your daughter.
Halight, I know you are having tough times but you always sound very positive & motivated
WannabeSybil, (((hugs))))) to you as well on this strange day. It's fine to have mixed feelings.
Specsappeal, congratulations on the job. A little good news for your family in tough times too. I hope the funeral went ok today. The funeral of my DD's best friend last August (he was 3 days short of his 16th birthday when the same thing happened to him) was a mixture of terrible sadness at a young life cut so short, but laughter at the memories of him too.
Am sure there was more, but can't remember right now. However ((((hugs))))) for all those needing them.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Just popping in to thank folks for the birthday wishes on Saturday! had a fabulous day, spent w/e in Wales with family and we all went out for a meal - 21 adults and 4 kids! It was so lovely to catch up with everyone. Can't believe I'm now officially an OAP tho'!
Have turned out half the cupboard under the stairs today, so finally beginning to put my new spare time to good use! As for washing - the machine's hardly stopped today!
Hope you are all OK, and ((HUGS)) to anyone who needs one right now. Will catch up on reading the thread after cooking supper (yes, I'm cooking again now that I'm home - although DH still likes to do some too!)Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
PenPin - sorry you are finding it difficult to get warm - that's a tricky one to deal with. Well done to your DD - you must be really proud.
VickyA - been thinking of you all today.
Cold here and about to wrap up to take the dogs out. At least it has stopped raining - it was lashing earlier.
Tea was HM soup from freezer with a toasted pitta bread, then stir fry veg + left over potato, with egg scrambled through it. Put a splash of chilli sauce on the side and it was lovely.
Plans for this evening include watching last night's episode of Lark Rise and there is the possibility of stripping my bed. In fact, I'm off to do it now before going out with dogs:D

Hi everyone
Penpin - your DD is some gal ! I think half the reason bullying exists is that people won't speak out. She has a great set of values and a good heart. I wish I had had someone in my corner when I was getting bullied at school.
Cold here today. Had snow at one point. Didn't half come down in big flakes but thankfully it didn't stick but boy did it hurt when it landed in my eye as I looked up at the sky. Remind me not to do that in a hurry. Didn't know snow could hurt. Lol
Another long hard day at work. It feels as though I haven't been off that long the way they are throwing work at me. Am feeling very tired and achy. Have to be careful cos of the m.e. and am having to pace myself.
Wrapped up pressies for DN1 who is 8 tomorrow. Got some really good bargains, DS Carnival game for £12 from Mr A, had seen it for £20 everywhere else and lots of crafty/arty stuff that she likes. Just hope she will be pleased. She had her first party at home yesterday and I was up making 4 dozen cupcakes in various shades of pink and chocolate. Only problem was, DH popped his head and wanted some. Add to that list a victoria sponge. Mind you, at least he can have it with double cream or after a couple of days, custard.
Am having a quick skoot around here and then off to make sandwiches for work tomorrow. Hope everyone manages to stay warm - talking of which, feet are cold. Off to get socks. Be good.I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0 -
I collected the car this morning, it seems to be a bit nippier than our old one. OH went out in it this afternoon, I took him to the nursery to get seed potato's for the allotment.
We decided today to junk our pine nest of tables , replaced them with a unit that is really for a music centre and two side tables with glass tops, they make a big difference to the room, it seems lighter somehow.
We finished off the lamb for supper tonight with salad and jacket spuds.....have not done much at all today, will have to do the cleaning tomorrow......hoping to hear either this week or next about OH going back to see the cosultant and find out what the scans and tests showed.
The chap who made a pigs ear of put tihe light fitting up yesterday did not turn up to put it right today.......why am I not suprised?????
I shall be retiring to bed shortly, tired after our bad last night.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

I've had caller ID since my MIL rang me at 7.30am one Sunday morning, pre-child (so she woke me up!), to discuss my FIL's bowels. It's worth every penny. Honestly it is.0 -
i must confess , i too let phone ring then 1471 it...:o. You can normally tell who is it by the time they call ie my mum when Eastenders is on (she dosen't watch), Mil when x-factor/dancing on ice etc (she doesn't watch them)...

Bargain Rzl - glad you enjoyed the opera. It's one of the things I miss about not living in central London any more.
Penny-Pincher!! - ah, thanks :Aand well done to your DD!
I've been playing Chinese puzzles with the contents of my freezer... got so many things that need to be in there, and no space at all. So I'm eating random things to make space to put things in there out of the fridge before they go off...
Must get going, in the mood to do a bit of tidying up so I might as well make the most of it!Operation Get in Shape
