Almo - the first few posts I made I put my foot in it in a spectacular fashion, so you can say almost anything, and you will be fine. The people on here are absolutely wonderful.
Haven't read the weekend thread, so hope all are well - hugs to all.
Evil cat is being more evil than normal - the windy weather affects her. She is going to get more affected - I am planning a huge clearout. Now I am always saying that I will do stuff, but I really honestly need to do it now! Like NOW!!!!
Today is the anniversary of my late mother's passing. I feel a bit odd. You see, I did my duty, but there was a very difficult relationship between us. I could never have had a little one when my late mother was alive, I could never have coped. My life improved immeasurably when she passed away. But in many ways she was a good woman, and if you knew her as a friend or neighbour you would have enjoyed her company and valued her. It is also very soon after the birthday of my late mother in law and the anniversary of my paternal grandfather's passing, although I hardly knew him.
Well, at the behest of dear heart I am going to start listing a zillion things on ebay (okay, nearly a zillion things, just not very nearly a zillion things).
No idea what to do for tea, so I shall wait and see what leaps out at me. I think I may try and use up the last tinned pie with oodles of mash potato and peas, perhaps with a bit of a sauce on the peas. I think on 'Big Cook Little Cook' (I watch all the intellectual programmes ) they had a thing where you mashed up the peas with some cream cheese. I shall check the Ceebeebies website.
I do hope all have a good day, and all those who are still working out how this thread goes, it goes lovely and there are some really nice people on here.
Also, any recommendations for getting chocolate off material covered chairs?
Also, stardrops is coming with my Sainsbury order :j:j:j:j 73p :beer:Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Good morning everyone. Thanks for all of the good thoughts that flew my way- much appreicated. I should have been in school today, but I woke up at 4.30am feeling very weird (again). So I spent a couple of hours setting cover work and emailing the relevant souls.School have been very supportive, but I really want to get back ASAP. At least my (supposedly) monthly lunatic cycle seems to be settling down, and I'm not losing anything as much, but I still have to go to the doctor today, so that they can refer me to the relevant outpatient depts for further investigations. I spent over half an hour on hold this morning to get an appt, only to find that the first available was at a sister surgery across town at 4pm. Even so, I'm really grateful for the medical input I've had over the last few days, and that I live in a place where healthcare is free.
OS yesterday - HM vegetable soup for tea (made from HM chicken stock and YS roast vegetables, with YS garlic balls, cheese and leftover biscuits from Christmas. DH thought it was wonderful.
OS today - HM tomato soup, freezer sort out and attacking the mending pile, with an early nap worked in somewhere.
At least it's sunny here, if perishingly cold.
Big hugs to everyone in need of them. The trick is to keep breathing, or so I've been told.Surviving the ups and downs of life with DH

morning all!!! Haven't had time to catch up on the thread yet so hugs to those that need them.
DH left this morning for the drive to yorkshire for nephews funeral and he will be back around 10pm tomorrow night so just me and the kids tonight. At least i will get to sit and watch 24 in peace!
I got the phone call i was waiting for - i got the project workers job and have to go in on wednesday to fill out all the forms for the CRB. really pleased as although its only part time and minimum wage its something close to my heart to help the youngsters in their transition from being in care to independant living as i was in that postition myself. they will be breaking me in gently though and i will go in for a few hours each week until feb before i start my 'proper' shifts. just the minefield of tax credits to get through aarrgghhh!!
popped into town this morning and picked up the new argos book (why on earth i get excited about the new books coming out i really dont know!). Also posted my latest assignment for my reflexology course - 14 down only 15 to go followed by the practical training then i will be qualified!! My friend came round and gave me a crystal mud foot soak and i am considering adding that to my treatments as it feels wonderful and is something a little different.
Today i dont have too much to do so i may do some baking and tea tonight is sausages and chips for the kids and a weightwatchers meal for me.
Finally managed to order the wii fit which is going to be delivered tomorrow so cant wait for that.
well thats all for me - hope you all have a good day!!0 -
Hello all,
Have not read the thread yet, will do in a minute.
Been to the dentist to get my front tooth filled - I have been putting it off for 3 years so thought I would need it taking out, but *fortunately* it had not gone very deep, so only took about 10 mins. As soon as I got out I just burst into tears - I get so traumatised at the dentist. Anyway, my Mum paid for it, so now I am just dealing with a fat face.
My Gran is coming over today - I started knitting a tea cosy yesterday, so she will probably help with that.
Breakfast was crumpets
Lunch is yoghurt
Dinner is macaroni cheese
Note the soft theme
Have a good one :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Also just had my uncle on the phone for over half an hour regarding stuffing a chicken breast (which I have absolutely no skill or preference whatsoever). What it really was is that he is lonely.
Well, I have made a lot of phone calls so far, so must keep up momentum.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
