morning all - - well at least i THINK its morning - so dark outside its hard to tell
not that much going on forme today but i am hoping that it will be a no spend day - as i have no plans to take my purse anywhere
no baking or cooking to be done till evening meal, had a big cleaning, washing and ironing day yesterday so only need a quick swish around this morning
i am calling in at the local pub and farm shop (both an easy walk with the dog at lunch time) to ask if they will place collecting tins for the local childrens hospice on their counters for me - as i am on a big fund raising mission at the mo
other than that its a lazy day for me and im going to spend at least an hour in the bath pampering myself
off to let the hens out now and to get another cuppa
big warm hugs and prayers to all who need them
enjoy your day all0 -
I have one final dilemma - I don't yet feel it is my place to comment on other posters' problems etc but I don't want to seem stand offish - I know I never refer to anyone else in my posts but I don't know at what point it's deemed acceptable
. Anyway, I am reading and taking note of all your dilemmas, disappointments and triumphs, I just don't know what to say! Bit like a kid on the first day of school
Are you on the other side of the world by any chance, or is there some pocket of the UK that is undergoing a freak heatwave?
Ok, my plans for today are;
1) Get DD out of bed and persuade her that she isn't ill -am doing this with the aid of a bacon sandwich.
2) Take her to school and post back films from Lovefilm (The Devil Wears Prada -good, and Little Miss Sunshine -very good).
3) Hang up and put in washing
4) Go to French class
5) Eat leftover red soup for lunch
6) Fetch dd from school
7) Make leftoverturkeycurry for tea
Dd crying and saying her head hurts-may have to miss French:rolleyes: :mad:0 -
I am a bit like Almo and still feel a bit of a newbie posting although I lurked and read posts for months before I plucked up courage to join (what was there to be scared off.....?)
I just like to wish everyone a good day and hope that if anyone is feeling hurt, sad or unwell then they know that my wishes for a good day include them!
Back to the point.....it is still very dark here but wet and dismal looking . Will do a rainy walk to school and then head off for work.i love a Monday at work sorting everything for the week ahead and seeing what needs done, love a Wednesday as it's halfway through the week and by Friday I'm usually pooped!!
For tea we have HM soup from yesterday and I took turkey out of freezer last night so will have curry as well.
I do hope you all do enjoy Monday,M x0 -

Hi hope your daughter is okay & not doing the old swinging the lead that mine try on a regular basis  Or maybe that's just my lot!
Could I ask for your recipe for Red Soup it sounds like it'd go down well here - they love carrots, peppers, toms etc especially in soup. Thanks in advance :T0 -
Morning all
very wet outside - bike is drip drying in the kitchen and I'm wearing a waterproof trouser and jacket ensemble with a yellow hi-viz vest accessory - again not in a sexy way - a bright pink bike helmet will complete the look
plans today are the dreaded w*rk during which tea inspiration will hopefully come to me but if not there are some leftovers in the freezer that will do after nuking.
Almo - wot Thriftlady said
Have a good day everyoneI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Morning all
Have put bedding in WM but can't line dry it as it's raining I'll hang it over doors and chairs, we're out all day at DD's pulling a ceiling down. The room is so cold. We removed a panel of plasterboard on Fri to find little or no insulation. We are going to get some that is 8 inches thick, solid with foil on both sides. Hopefully it will cut down on her heating bills.
DF's arive home today after being on holiday for 3 wks. I've been looking after their place. I have taken some HM bread, milk, a cauli cheese and HM cheese scones over for them as they don't get back until 7.30pm.
Need another coffee before we go to DD's.
(((((((((((hugs to all)))))))))))))) Hope today is kind to everyone.0 -

Morning All!
Wet and windy here today. My outside stairlift was due to be put in today, but I bet they don't do it, not in this weather!:o
DD was on the phone crying last night. She changed her bank from LLoyds to Alliance & Leicester last year, and suddenly, LLoyds are saying she never closed her account and has run up charges of £188:eek: Even though nothing has gone in or out for over a year! Said I'll go wilth her and sort it oout today:mad:
DS is still asleep, work for him later.
OHhas just left. I think I upset him last night. We've been together 8 years now. Last year he asked me to marry him. I said yes, and that's as far as it's gone. He hasn't done anything about getting a divorce (even though his wife is in America and they've been apart for 12 years) . He's got his own place, wich he runs a business from, and doesn't want to give that up, but for me it's not enough now. He's got it all his way, and I'm begining to feel like "The Mistress" even though I;m not! I know he loves me, and will always be there, bu am I asking too much? I'll be 50 in April, and would like a bt more security than I've got at the moment.:o
Still, enough about me, others are worse off.
(((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))) to those who need them.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

I don't think that you're asking too much, you just want to know where you stand really. If he asked you to marry him last year he was obviously thinking of a long term committment. It's hard to ask if you're not sure of the answer you'll get, but have you discussed this with him? My dh NEVER does 'feelings' talks his attitude is 'Of course I love you, I've been with you for 22yrs' I understand but just sometimes it'd be nice to think that I'm the centre of his world  Or maybe that's just me being unrealistic. I hope that you can sort it out & start to feel a bit better about it all. I'll be thinking about you & sending good thoughts your way xx0
