Have just decided to sign up for their fixed price 2008 deal as I would guess rises will be coming and this deal works out at about £2/month extra for me which I am hoping will beat any rise.

I had a look at this too through energyhelpline. For me it would be a whopping 32% extra. Maybe mjmal51 was not on their online tariff?0 -

Also maybe checking the rates of the online tariff direct from EDF and not the cheaper online tariff via comparison sites. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

Wow thanks for that, I did not do enough homework! I am on their online tariff and their 2008 fixed rate increase compares to the Standard tariff. Just phoned to cancel which they have done, but say that it probably would not have gone through anyway due to to big price increase, I reckon about £115/year. Still very helpful staff as usual.
Good to know that board members are keeping an eye on all the rates!0 -
I've switched to London Energy from Scottish Power. It took 22 days, I got £12.50 cashback from energyhelpline, I'm saving £130 per year on the bills and 5000 Nectar points for switching before 31st March. I also get 400 Nectar points for registering my Nectar card online with them and I'll get 250 points each quarter for registering my meter readings online. More Nectar points for making payments by Direct Debit and loyalty points per quarter.
I'll give it a go this year and review anually to be sure I'm getting the best deal.0 -
Any one have any tarrif information for their 'Innovative Save Scheme' ?
Thanks

Direct debit!! You are cancelling them taking money from your account. They would more than likely keep your bank details on record, so they can still credit your account, just as anyone can credit someone elses account as long as they have the account number and sort code.
I did this then had a letter from BG saying that as I had cancelled my regular payment I would be charged a higher rate per unit from now on.
Just tried ringing LE but the people that deal with switching are only in Mon-Fri.
Basically my elec changed on 23-Dec, I am paying DD to LE and BG still think I am with them. The elec account is also not showing on 'my account' online.
Gas went through on 13 Jan, I have paid BG the final bill but no DD set up with LE as yet.
I applied to switch on 28-Oct which makes it 4 months and still not complete.
Not impressed at all.0 -

Do you mean your electricity account is not showing on your LE online account? If so then your move from BG is not completely through yet even though you were given a date of 23rd December for switching. I would also phone BG to find out why they're holding back the switch. Have you provided final meter readings to both?Gas went through on 13 Jan, I have paid BG the final bill but no DD set up with LE as yet.
Is your gas account showing in LE online account? I had a problem with my gas DD too. Although it showed it was set up in my account online, no payment had been taken. I phoned LE and they set up a new one right away and I paid by debit card to cover the payment I had missed. You don't need the switching people for that.0 -

Not showing on LE account.
Does this mean I will have to continue to pay BG?
Not been asked for any meter readings. Although I didn't for gas as BG took the reading.jem16 wrote:Is your gas account showing in LE online account? I had a problem with my gas DD too. Sounds like you are still with BG for your electricity. My gas account was the 2nd to switch and although it was meant to be the 7th December (according to LE) it was the 14th before BG agreed on the final meter reading and BG closed my account with them. I provided a reading of 2071 to both but apparently BG decided on 2091 and LE felt that it wasn't worth arguing about. Once BG had closed my account and LE had opened the new one with that reading, it appeared on my online account.
I would definitely get onto both and get it moving. Also find out what's causing the delay.Yes the gas account is showing.
Thanks Jem
Does it show a DD set up?0
