Makes no difference.
Direct debit!! You are cancelling them taking money from your account. They would more than likely keep your bank details on record, so they can still credit your account, just as anyone can credit someone elses account as long as they have the account number and sort code. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
I've just switched to London Energy through a comparison site on Sunday, the saving to me over British Gas was approx. 34% so it sounds OK to me! At the moment I'm on prepayment meters, when the switch actually happens will I still use the same meters or will they have to be changed?
Thanks0 -
You will still use the same meters, they should send you a card that you insert into the meter to update it with the new tariff details. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Sorry, should have said I will be changing to a monthly DD/billing instead of prepayment, if that makes any odds.

Once the switch goes through, it may take a few weeks before they come out and swap the meters to standard credit meters.
It might be worth contacting them, to find out how long after you swap over to them they will come out and change the meters. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... OK thats fine I just wasn't sure how everything would pan out, like I say I only did the switch online on Sunday so I've had no proper contact with them yet, once I get a letter through I'll give them a bell and try and get something sorted out, at least I know that the meters will be changed, thanks again.0

I switched from Scottish Power to LE. Customer services are very nice and very helpful. However, they didnt ask for a meter reading for either utility.
On 28th Jan I had a letter saying electricity would be switched to LE on 24th.(4 days earlier), so I rang them with the reading. They said the gas would take a bit longer and asked me to give them a meter reading on 8th Feb (today), which I have done.
Now I've just received an estimated final gas bill from Scottish Power up to 2nd Feb.......?? In my favour they have slightly underestimated, but now I've gone and given LE the true reading...drat!debt free...yippee

I switched to LE from Powergen back in November and everything went smoothly. Whenever I needed to call them the phone was answered promptly and dealt with courteously.
Have just decided to sign up for their fixed price 2008 deal as I would guess rises will be coming and this deal works out at about £2/month extra for me which I am hoping will beat any rise.
