I'm on my fifth or possibly my sixth. The filter machine is quieter than the kettle. Will be positively buzzing by 9am at this rate.

Managed a third of what I had planned yesterday. Would have done far more but I passed out on the sofa shortly after lunch and didn't come round again until dinner time. Clearly this cold is worse than I'm admitting to.

Dispatched OH to the neighbours to retrieve a letter which had been wrongly delivered there last week and which they'd opened and read and told me about the contents of but not got around to sticking through the letter box. Its postmarked Dec 1st for Fs sake. Opened it and had mild dicky fit. Application form for child trust fund top up with a we'd better have it by the 31st or else deadline attached. Eek. Now completed and awaiting posting.

Vaguely wondering if I'm insane enough to tackle the supermarkets with the DDs in tow. We're out of milk and cheese. Its more a case of needs muct. Not entirely convinced I'll have the energy to work and shop tomorrow. Guess I'll be getting that over and done with this morning no matter how much they complain. Oh deep deep joy. Still hopefully after that I'll be able to finish wrapping the last of the x-mas pressies which is another thing off the enormous to do before x-mas list wedged in my head.

Moo - sorry you are feeling so rough - but good to see your talent for one-liners hasn't deserted you.

    Please please take tomorrow off?!

Morning all. Its cold and grey and foggy in the big world at large. Will need to get my nbum in gear extra early to defrost the car before departing for work. Taking the day off sounds rather nice but would be detrimental in so many ways. Being at school is like being on a tropical island (apart from all the kids) whilst being at home can be likened to an arctic exploration. I arrive home and immediately put on more clothes, lots more clothes. Its chuffing freezing here.

I am planning to take it relatively easy today. Will be spending the morning polishing windows aka wandering aimlessly around indoor chuntering away to anyone and everyone occassionally stopping to smear a few more finger prints across the glass. Will pick up a couple of boxes whilst I'm there so I can wrap the remaining x-mas gifts. Got a bit carried away yesterday. Hobnobs were 30p a pack at Mr Ts and most other posh bicccies were cheaper than the own brands so the food parcels are junk food heavy. Still it'll go down well with the recipients. Also got lots of posh tea bags at £1.50 a box of 40 they weren't exactly cheap but since each box came with 50 clubcard points I'll be in profit long term. Total shopping expedition generated £25 in future Clubcard Deals.

DDs chose X-mas gifts for OH which are now wrapped. Asda had lots of Wii games for a tenner but resisted and came home to order them via Quidco. Turns out they're not available online and the reviews are all totally pants anyway so loads a money saved there too. Well not saved but not spent.

OH is at the dentist this afternoon and has volunteered to pick up the few bits I forgot. Vegetables, coffee and butter. Why is it always the blindingly obvious stuff that you forget to buy? On the up side none of the animals will starve as I've purchased enough chow to see them through January.

    Plans for today:
    • Rediscover my winning streak on free bingo. Seems like an eterninty since I won anything.
    • Wrap all remaining x-mas gifts and stash somewhere safe
    • Write letters to go with calendars and stage a sit in outside the school office in the hopes they take pity on me and hand them over so I can post them this afternoon.
    • Post final flea bay parcel of the year generating a whopping £1 profit. Whoo hoo. Positively rolling in it I am.
    • Write 30 more DooYoos taking me to the magic 200. Clearly not all at once, nor all today but soon to get them over with.
    • Experiment with the posh facial scrub with micro doobery firkins in the hopes I turn into a goddess rather than a zitty snot monster. Fingers crossed for spontaneous miracles.
    • Remove the last traces of the multicoloured chipped nail varnish although as this means exposing my toes and risking frostbite this may be delayed until warmer times.
    • Clean fiendishly. 48 hours of four people within the four walls of the house makes so much mess.
    • Yesterdays washing up. Yep I am a slovely ho.

Some delightful child managed to snap a key in a lock yesterday so I had a fun morning dismantling the lock to retrieve the left over bit of key. Turned into an unexpected bonus when I chaufeured the key to the locksmith and killed the 40 minutes it took to have two new ones cut doing the bits of shopping I'd forgotten yesterday. Freezer is now full of veg.

DD1 arrived home with an assortment of I need it nows from school.Turns out I have to magic up a Christmas cake decoration by tomorrow today (that'll be holly from the bush in the school car park then) and party food for 30 by Wednesday.

Calendars finally arrived and have been packaged up with photos and cards ready for posting this morning. Cutting it a wee bit fine but theres nowt I can do about it. Still sending them secnod class cos they weigh a ton and theres just time for them to arrive with the assorted rellies before x-mas. 90% of the pressies are now wrapped. Ran out of time before work yesterday afternoon but plan to finish that today. Am hoping the last item I've purchased online arrives today too. Then I can start on the quest for reasonably priced car insurance for OHs car. It seems to be one thing after another at the mo.

Managed half the ironing yesterday so will get the remainder done today and a spot of bathroom cleaning and half an hours putting things away where they belong as a huge amount of random stuff has been dumped just about anywhere there was space to put it down. Most annoying.

Today is payday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yesterday a bill arrived from the credit card peeps so will be using a chunk of cash on that and paying the remainder off the debt. OH and I both have an active cashback card which we clear each month, his pays out in Asda Vouchers and mine in Tesco Clubcard points. It feels safer shopping on line with a credit card than a debit card and it allows for any eek moments when theres less money than month allowing me to rebudget the following month for unexpected things. Means I'm always playing catch up but its a continual saftey net.

Only 4 more days of official work until January 4th and an evenings overtime. Whooppeee. Of course I'll have to visit work at some point over the hols but I can do that as and when I feel like it and the DDs can go in with me to play with schools toys or watch films which gives them a change of scene. Means if it rains constantly for the duration of the hols they can get the PE stuff out and make a giant assault course in the hall. Apparently its far more fun that the indoor play centre for which DD1 is now too tall.

Won a fiver on the free bingo which has almost covered the £5.55 the thieving varmits from the Post Office charged for posting the calendars to the far flung corners of the UK. Still thats one thing more to cross off the virtual to do list which lurks within my head.

Having a quick cup of coffee whilst I write my second DooYoo of the day, ideally I need to do three a day to reach 200 before Christmas but thats way beyond what I can face at the moment. After that it'll be time to commence a major assault on the house in the hopes of achieveing something before the OH arrives home. I've generously shared my lurgi so hes feeling pants too.

Taking a break from polishing my halo to stuff my face with peanut butter sandwiches and consume far more coffee than is actually good for me. All the ironing is done and the third load of washing is in the machine. OH is snoring away in bed so theres no chance of wrapping anything else today as its all stashed in our bedroom. Still as an added bonus I can't risk cleaning the upstairs bathroom without disturbing him so will content myself with just doing downstairs. Need to bring in shed loads of logs whilst its dry out. Hopefully I can squeeze another half hours tidying time in in the kitchen which will see it minimalistically blitzed. Even the giant school sized noticeboard is groaning under the weight of carp attached to it and randomly turfs off flyers for Chinese takeouts to alleviate some of the strain and tempt me with yummy sounding dishes. Mind you anything I don't have to cook myself is extra yummy.
