Financial faux pas and other disasterous decisions

Still feeling like somthing the gat dragged in and later regurgiatated in a heap on the floor. Still onwards and vaguely upwards life gets in the way of everything. OH is off on a jolly today and as hes staying in the Marriott he'll be claiming a £10 gift voucher via their rewards scheme as well as all the usual perks. Gives me an evening all to myself assuming I can comvince the DDs to go to bed and stay there.
Today is probably going to be the longst day of my week so far. Its Christmas dinner day. We have to wedge a littleover 200 children in the dining room ina single sitting which means acquiring tables and chairs from several classrooms. Some ijot has timed the staff four course extravaganza to kick off mid way through so the cook is tearing her hair out. Can't see me making it home much before 2pm if I make it back at all today. Tis quite probably the last thing on earth I fancy doing at this point in time. Must move into stealth martyrdom mode and look forward to the endless amounts of surplus x-mas pud once its all over and done with.
Meanwhile the £3.10 Bodyshop voucher from this months mailshot is rather appealing. I don't actually need anything from the Body Shop, nor will I be going anywhere that sells anything on Sunday but its tempting none the less. I really don't need yet another Body Shop Lip balm. I have enough to last several years as it is.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
So plans for today:
- Leave school at some point to allow the dog to go to the loo and say goodbye to OH before he disappears on his jolly if he hasn't already left.
- Housework of some description. Whooshed round with the vac yesterday but didn't do much else. OH washed up but the place is still annoyingly messy.
- Remember to feed the DDs this evening. Fortunately they'll have eaten well at school so I can get away with tinned sphagetti on toast. Its still going to be a very late night.
- Do one thing just for me. Even if its just to change the ten different shades of chipped nail varnish on my toes to a single colour. Am going to make a point of doing one thing just for me each day that isn't a quick bleary eyed surf on the PC in the wee dark starlit hours. I am a selfish cow!
- Transfer cash to debt. Turns out the unaccounted for extra is a combination of bingo winnings and scratch card payouts.

It's not the lip balms, it's the body lotions I have a problem with. Due to having three daughters we tend to get a lot of those Christmas presents that are soap, bubble bath and body lotion. The first two are no problem but as none of us are the sort that recline on sofas languorously stroking body lotion onto our naked bodies (far too cold & I prefer not to look too closely at my naked body) they tend to accumulate.
I did a round up yesterday & we have 8 bottles and Christmas is upon us once more.0 -
Woo! on the extra cash, unaccounted for money in my account tends to mean that they haven't yet cashed the mortgage cheque.0

I go through tons of body lotion although I prefer the far more expensive body butter. My hands are permanently clamped inside sweaty marigolds and tend to crack and bleed if I'm not very very nice to them. Actually I go through three times as much as youu'd expect as the cleaners leap on anything that lurks within the cupboard at the end of the day. We did raid the leftovers from the x-mas fair to keep us going but theres only so much little old lady lilly of the valley that any self respecting modern girl can take. No matter how you dress it up it still smells like cat wee.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Eeeek have to get x-mas pressies for the minions before the end of next week. Keep forgetting about that. I was given the option of contributing £20 to the management pot to be distributed across the entire minion population (which will be used for ghastly little old lady smellies) or doing my own thing so I'm doing my own thing. It'll be cheaper and appreciated more if its edible.
Ooh the perks of management. As I keep being reminded by the ladies what do - that extra 50p an hour is so not worth it when you get to clean up vomit or scrape dried on retrieve objects from beyond the U-bend.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Well so much for doing something useful with my OH free evening. I feel like crawling into my pit and collapsing in a heap. Can't even be bothered changing the sheets which is usually the ultimate treat when hes away. Freshly laundered fart free sleeping. Pure bliss. Sadly lacking in energy. Wondering if a glass of vino will perk me up a wee bit as 7:50 is far to early to call it a night especially as the horrorbags are rampaging around like a pair of asbos.
Had a fab day today but feeling totally kettled. Made it home for 20 minutes before heading back to work. Thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of it but I ache all over. Highlight of the day being the commercial fat trap which decided to pack up and disgorge its contents over the parents waiting area. One parent was bright enough to come and say theres foul smelling steaming slime running across the playground. The bit she forgot to add was that five under threes were happily sploshing about in it whilst their mothers chuntered on completely oblivious.
Tomorrows fun will involve extracting some slime with a bucket until we can get it pumped out. Lovely jubbly.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Mmmm even got a lucky dip style secret santa gift. Recycled a scarf I was given about 5 years ago but never wore or even removed the tags from. Came home with a mini bottle of champers, two stretchy bead bracelets and some homemade lavender soap. The DDs will be getting the bracelets in their stockings - I don't do jewellery but they do and they'll be ecstatic.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Was rudely awakened at 3am by the repeated shrieks of mummy mummy mummy. Went whooshing into the assault course that is DD1s room expecting to find vomit everywhere but no her cuddly parrot had fallen on the floor and she wanted it picking up. Annoyingly couldn't get back to sleep so decided at 5am to get up. Not sure what happened but at six the alarm went off scaring the pants off me. I hate insomnia.
Managed two DooYoos yesterday but not a lot else. Am feeling marginally more human today. Have yet another jam packed day which includes a visit to the farmers market to collect half a pig. Will be very restrained and will resist all other produce no matter how appetising it looks. Am going to struggle to wedge the pig in the freezer as it is. Still shouldn't complain. Haivng had a mid week arguement with OH about whoopsied anything and everything and how if its whoopsied apparently it shouldn't be eaten he then materialised with two bags of 10p Warburtons loaves. Perhaps he does finally finally get it. I know a freezer full of whoopsies annoys the heck out of him but I really don't see the problem in paying 10p for a loaf instead of £1.25 and bunging it in the freeezer only to watch the gannets consume it in rapid time before its even had a chance to defrost. DD1 is particularly good at microwaved cheese on toast. Looks like hot runny slop on soggy bread to the rest of us but she swears its the most delicious thing in the world.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
