    Hi Laura,

    It's lovely here today, hope the weather keeps up for your trip to Edinburgh! Have never done the 'ghost walk' but you should check out the dungeons, near Waverley Station, it's quite an experience. Think it costs about £14 but you can sometimes get leaflets in your hotel for 2-for-1, that's the way we did it. I ended up behind bars, won't tell you anymore incase you visit them.

    As for Scabbyfax (actually I've been with them for years with not much problem) but I can't even register for online banking so means having to send cheques every month for overpayments!

    I work for them :o but have thankfully paid off the money I owe them :D You can register for online, you just call their online helpdesk - as long as you can answer your security questions you'll be fine.

    I bank with them and A&L and ING, and the Halifax online banking is really good IMO. Worth checking out.

    I work for them :o.
    Oh F_F! No offense meant :o:D

    I'm afraid I've just no love for Halifax. It seems as though since I first swapped to them from Barclays everything went a bit pear-shaped (unpaid bills, big charges and other stuff!) and then they changed the T&C's on their credit card to make it harder to pay off and net themselves more interest :rolleyes: And to be honest, I find a lot of features of their online banking quite annoying- mainly the fact that is impossible to transfer money quickly to other accounts. OH has online banking with HSBC and he can get money into my acount in 2 hours!! The other way round- I have to give 48 hours notice of amount to be sent and then it takes 3 days to show in his account. Works same for CC payments as well! Very annoying.. so I'm afraid I will be parting ways with Halifax as soon as I am able!

    Wish I could tell you why that is Laura - I can send money to A&L almost instantly, but ING takes 3 days to send it to Halifax.

    Maybe HSBC doesn't accept incoming Faster Payments? I dunno :D I don't do any kind of branch role anymore, so my knowledge of such things isn't what it was :rotfl:

    None taken in terms of offence. Some people just don't like us as a bank! I don't like RBS as when I was their customer their service was hellish, but my dad has banked with them for a squillion years and wouldn't move. Different strokes for different folks and all that!

    Hope you pay them off soon and are rid as soon as possible!

    Thanks for being understanding F_F! I would have felt terrible if I had offended you! :o

    I'm sure it's just one big Halifax conspiracy to be mean to me!:rolleyes:

    I'm not paranoid...everyone IS out to get me! :rotfl:

    (copied from the: What is your Why? thread on the DFW board)

    I started my DFW journey in Nov when I realised I couldn't go on adding £100+ to my debt every month by using credit cards I never paid off, going over my overdraft limit and borrowing money from my OH to pay over limit charges.

    Ultimately I would like to get married and have children without debt hanging over me.

    The last 6 months has already made a massive difference- I've paid over £1000 off of my debt, replaced £800 of savings which I spent when I shouldn't have, started saving a little for christmas so that I don't get in a mess again at christmas time and have even been able to afford a weekend away for our 9 year 'anniversary' at the end of May. I could have paid all this off of my debt, of course, but I am enjoying feeling financially more secure and being able to afford things, rather than whacking it on a credit card.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Right, that's it! I've watched Jeremy Kyle (guilty pleasure:o ) and had a cup of tea so now I'm going to clean the kitchen before I get completely distracted and spend all morning on here then loose the will to do anything else! :D
    Well done you for your clever words!
    I should be cleaning too, but as I'm off work sick I'm lying around feeling sorry for myself and trawling the forums :o
    Sometimes a duvet day is in order... :D
    I had a lazy day yesterday. I have an extra day off this week as I am working Sunday (booooo :() and I should have done a lot of stuff yesterday but I was just mega lazy.
    I'm halfway through the kitchen now, just having a tea break and playing a bit of 1p bingo through take-a-break (all money saved through free scratchcard obviously!) May as well play now the free scratchcard only pays bonus money. :D
