Just managed (hopefully!) to book a B&B for our weekend in edinburgh. £138 for 2 nights. Fingers crossed it all works out.. I just don't trust some websites... booked through lastminute.com, which is at least a well known website but I just worry that the info isn't right... they haven't got up to date room price, or availability or whatever and I'll get an email saying 'actually, we're booked up...' Ok, I'm gonna go take a chill pill and stop panicking.
Fingers crossed everything will be ok!0 -

Whereabouts are you staying?
We are definitely planning on visiting the castle as OH's friends have been, and said it was really good and worth the money. Thought that we would do that on the saturday morning... I'd like to fit in a ghost walk too, maybe on the Friday night. Not sure what to do on Saturday afternoon, maybe botanical gardens, maybe just a wander around shopping areas
As for evening meals... I might see what vouchers we can print off of here for some MSE meals;)
*edit* Just checked and Bella Italia are doing a 'meal deal' of two pizza's or pasta and a bottle of wine for £20, so that's one evening taken care of MSE-stylee :T (and checked where it is in Edinburgh too!)

Hi Laura,
Glad got Edinburgh booked up, not sure where Granville Terrace is but will probably be nice, you should check out Rose Street and/or The Grassmarket either Saturday afternoon or night, there are loads of good pubs there. Sure Flying Freesian (being from Edinburgh) can advise more!0 -

Hi Laura
I've used Laterooms loads of times with absolutely no problem, but to put your mind at ease, why not phone the hotel just to check you are booked in. Hope you went through Quidco too?! The last couple of times I used Hotelopia through Quidco as they pay good commission (it was for OH going away on business) and lo and behold, both times he arrived there was no booking for him, although the money had come off the credit card! However, we did get good money through Quidco but I stopped using Hotelopia and went back to good old Laterooms.
Enjoy your trip. It's a lovely city. You planning the zoo?

There's a zoo?! Darn, not sure I'll have time to fit that in! Maybe next time... Still waiting for a confirmation email from lastminute.com
*edit* re-checked email. Still no confirmation. Checked lastminute.com- guest house booked now no longer on list (hope this means that we got the last rooms!) Found 're-send order confirmation email' as should arrive within 24 hours (it has been just less than 24 hours so maybe I'm worrying unnneccesarily...)
*edit2* still no email... *breathes in a paper bag*
ps. missed out on £4.66 cashback through quidco...(I use TCB) would be £9.66 but they take £5 cut out of that.. ah, well. It's only £4.66. Must remember to double check quidco when booking anything big..

Just a thought Laura, did you know in Laterooms you can log in and view your current and past bookings. I think it's under MyLaterooms and then MyBookings.0
