    Hello All,

Todays run was dangerous to say the least but still went ahead at everyone's own risk...here's a pic of the path we ran on:

So no pbs today although mine was about 26 minutes and Rich's was 20:26 so he wasnt far off - if conditions had been better then I'm sure he would have been about 19 minutes and I would have been close to 24 (I'm still a bit ill as well so that definitely affected my time).

Rich also got 8 out 10 for a triple salko on the ice walking back to the tube!!!

    Happy running all!

    Good morning everyone!:D:D

Quite an experience today - about -4c and thick, glassy ice over most of the course - certainly not a run to be done by anyone with an ounce of sanity.

However, we were there so decided we might as well have a jog round. Sure enough it did turn out to be treacherous, ie the dog walkers had abandoned the common pretty much, but it seemed pointless in tip toeing around, but better to just have a crack and see what happens.

In the end it turned out to be an enjoyable challenge but certainly a couple of minutes slower than in normal conditions.

Hope everyone enjoy's today's running and Chick I hope its not too breezy in morecambe!

Well done becky and rich! Good running in really tough conditions.

I did 14 miles.......my feet are suffering from the flippin blisters, but I managed to get round - 2hrs 35 which is 11 mins and 6 seconds a mile - perfectly fine for a training run, and the furthest I have run so far.

So, I think I am more or less on target with the milage, and not bad considering the time off I have had with blisters/cold/icy pavements, so I am more than happy.

I'm really glad I was able to get out - I seem to have missed so much lately. I now feel as though I am back on the right sort of schedule, so I think I needed to do that sort of distance as a confidence thing as much as anything.

    My feet hurt though :rotfl:

I hope you manage to get out soon x

Okay well the results have been published for our race this morning - I did 26:31 which I'm happy with since I was taking it easy - there was no point slipping over and getting injured.

Rich is confirmed at 20:27 which means he is so on for something beginning with 19 next week in Leeds :D

    We're going to attempt a 20 miler tomorrow - exciting stuff ;)

Where were you Beer Tiins!!! (I think you made a sensible choice)

We had a lovely run this morning in Morecambe. It was a clear morning and the view of the Lake District fells with snow on the peaks was superb! We did 11.5 miles, going from the gym at Hest Bank (now called Va Va Voom:confused: ) right through Heysham village. There was a bit of a headwind on the way back and my legs felt tired as I've put in quite a few miles over the last few days, but really enjoyable nonetheless.

So, mileage for the week: Mon & Tues 0; Wed 6.5 (1hr-ish); Thurs 6.5-ish (1hr); Fri 10m (1:33); Sat 11.5 (1:58) TOTAL: 34.5m over four days (no wonder my legs felt tired this morning - 21.5m in less than 24 hours)

All in all a pleasing week's training.

Those of you who were unable to run because of the snowy weather must be climbing the walls by now, I know I would be. Well done to Hypno on some solid mileage today. Take care with your feet though, you don't want to be taking 1 step forward & 2 steps back.

Well done on the 5k to Rich & Becky. That sub-20 is dangling temptingly close Rich. Given better under-foot traction I'm sure you would have had it today. Becky - even when you are under the weather you can pull a fast time out of the bag - well done!
