Hi there, sorry to hear that people are feeling unwell (Becky - take it easy and give your body a chance to get better). So many of you are unable to run because of the weather. I can't believe my luck - outside my office window the sun is shining, there isn't a cloud in the sky and the pavements are clear. I have planned 2 long runs; 2hrs (about 12.5 miles) tonight and something similar tomorrow. The ladies running group I run with have a marathon training session in the morning running along the front in Morecambe (Rich's old stomping ground I believe). We are meeting up at a gym, going for a run, then having a coffee and a nutrition lecture afterwards. I'm really looking forward to it.
In preparation for this evening's long run, I have a mid-afternoon snack of pesto pasta in the fridge. My life seems to revolve around running at the moment. Either doing it, planning runs, washing running kit, planning food and drink around it....etc.etc. Are we all this obsessed I wonder?

Hi all - had my second run of 2009 at lunchtime today. Was out for about 30 minutes and burnt off 330 calories (according to the old heart rate monitor). Feeling very good for it and it helps break up the day brilliantly. Signing up for the Race for Life and a 10K later in the year to keep momentum going!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

I'm in Crystal Palace, on the edge of zone 3, looking down on the lowlands of central London. The Pavements are still covered in ice. Saw several people fall on it this morning. I still need to wear my hiking boots to get to the train station. People look at me funny once I get to central London as there's no snow/ice left here!
P.S. I do FEEL like I'm being lazy though!

Hey Rich. I'm in Essex tonight, back tomorrow. What time is the run and is it one of those turn-up-and-run deals? And what distance? Any details appreciated!
As for "just down the road", 8 miles may not sound much, but in South London traffic it can be quite a trek!
P.S. I may log off soon, so might not answer any more posts, but will check the details with interest!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

5K, turn up and run, but you need to register on www.parkrun.com first. Even if the registration is too late it wont matter, you'll just come up in the results as 'Unknown Athlete' for your first run.
9am start. Hope you can make it - that'll be you, me and Becky!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Hi everyone,
Had a lovely run this evening. 10m in the bank. I felt like I could have run all night, as I was taking it at a nice easy pace, but I felt a bit guilty as DS hadn't had his tea so I headed back to take care of motherly duties.
Good luck in your race tomorrow to all of you who make it to the start. Not too much champers tonight you two
.
An early start in the morning for me (well, early for a weekend...) off to Morecambe sea front. I'll check back in to let you know how it went.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

An excellent run chick!
I am heading out in the morning -just going to see how far my feet take me.......no target, just to go as far as I can as slowly as I can......!
Fingers crossed for reasonable weather!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
