  • Rich, well done.

Today I really struggled from the first step, very cold here and like Sally struggled with hurting muscles. Legs were like lead. Self inflicted, an arranged night out meant a few sherberts. I run awful the morning after alcohol, luckily no planned meets until after the marathon so should be ok.

Had to cut my long run which initially annoyed me, however thinking about it, I went out, I tried and I know my next run will be better.

Sally, 11 miles gets my admiration!!

Well done - in very horrid cold conditions, that is more than good going!

I walked about a mile and a half......that was enough for me!

Raphael - Sounds an interesting course, although I think interval training is a very individual thing, so I'm not sure just how doing them as a group will work out. Good to be amongst a group all with the same target in mind though!

The course is only once a week, so of course I'll be carrying on with my own training as well. It will be good to have confirmation each week that I'm running the right distances and increasing at the right pace.

I'm off for another shortie tonight (1.28 miles), then going to attempt another 4 miler tomorrow :)

    Great effort Sally!

Its not as cold here as what you experienced but I do recall a run back in December when the muscles just wouldn't warm up even after miles of running, so it sounds similar to that for you today.

Nonetheless, its an 11 mile run under the belt, if you manage 14 next week things are really progressing in the right direction so well done.:D

Rustybucket, running was invented to get rid of hangovers - its a great excuse to run really slowly as well. I bet you feel better for getting out though!:D

Raphael - Good luck with your runs tonight and tomorrow.

I wonder how Becky is getting on with her 20 miler? Brave girl for having a go at it today!

    Evening All,

Exhausted - please do not expect any sense...but very very happy :D

18.5 miles in snow, bitter winds and running solidy for 3 hours and 10 minutes - I have snow/wind burns, I ache everywhere and I have to go out soon and find some food - but I am soooo happy with myself - I ran to the brink today - I've gone super clumsy as well - not like last week when my feet got in the way - today my body knows its had a work out!

Oh I sprinted the last mile - but I did feel slightly like I was drunk :D

So I can run 26 miles in April - and now I know it for certain :D
