Go back to bed and treat yourself to custard - a proven winning formula!:D
You're certainly not short of the enthusiasm to go out and train - so that will see you through in the end, once the body is ready to play ball.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Morning....Pah its pants weather here (pretty much like yours hypno) freezing and blowing a hoolie. Wish I could go back to bed and have a lazy day, needs must though. Have decided to head out with the run club long run today as am feeling a bit pah and encourangement will keep me going for those 12 miles. Think they are planning 10 so will run to the meet point and back which should add the 2 miles.
Happy running all today!I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Good for you sallyx - I think perhaps if I was going out with a group today, I would go too - but the thought of trying to do it on my own right now is just too much!

Morning All!
fizz and cocktails consumed in excessive quantities last night but I'm awake now - going to leave it a few hours till I'm re-hydrated and head off for my run...now wheres that map of the route??
Hope Rich's run goes well
Hypno - you're obviously not feeling great so dont bully yourself into going out when you're not feeling too good (especially if the weather is awful)
Good luck on the 12 miler Sally!
Right off to find some coffee and croissants!0 -

Hi All!
Just to get my own back for him posting Chick's result last week, here's Rich's time for the Dewsbury 10K:
40:34 by chip and 40:48 gun time - I presume the chip time is the accurate one
Which puts him 175 overall and 24th in his age group!
Well done Rich - fantastic work on the back of your highest mileage week to date - hope you're pleased0 -
Well done rich!

Hehe As in the words of Chickadee...oi, cheeky!!!:p
Yes, indeed 40:34 which means I missed my target of just dipping under 40 minutes (but I do set the targets at the demanding end of what I think is possible).
However, this is the fastest 10K so far, previous best 43:21, and at 6:32/mile compared to 6:59 for the last 10K race is a huge jump forward and indicates a sub 3:00 marathon is well on the cards.
The course itself is well known to me, although not for running on, and my impression of it being completely flat isn't quite true. I checked the elevation on mapmyrun last night and found that the first 5K actually rises 140ft, which is not a lot but enough to make a difference.
So, the 'out' 5K was done in 20:37 and the 'back' 5K was done in 19:57. In other words, I'm a happy little bunny because the sub 20 minute 5K barrier has fallen. Yippee :j :j :j
To answer your question, Becky, yes I am pleased.....it is difficult to be disappointed when ticking off the fastest 10K so far and the fastest 5K so far in one morning!:D
A (very) gentle 10K is planned for later this afternoon to round off a 70 mile week.
Good luck everyone with today's runs (and the sobering up where appropriate)
