Hehe I wonder how long before the Olympics become 'non-competitive' ....it had better be soon because its the only way we'll be able to enter an athletics team! Non competitiveness in schools, obliteration of competitive road races.....its all going in one direction, rapidly!

Copied from my fetch blog (kstuart for those who go there) this is the 'plan' for sunday

    Edinburgh Marathon target time pondering

Hmm as i still havn't definitivly picked a time to go for i thought i'd cheat and work out a range of times with various signnificances that i would like to target.

Should do them in some form of order i suppose but first

My current Fetch ranking is 64.31% 4:13:12 9:40 pace 2189th

4:45 Nice easy get round time
4:30 Nice simple but requiring some effort get round time
4:20 just under 10 min miling
4:15 tantalsingly close to current PB - THis wont be happening i hope wink_smiley.gif
4:13:11 New PB by a second
4:10 A good improvement although i could do better
4:06:56 the 60% mark on the fetch marathon rankings currently
4:05:09 would get me 2000th spot on the fetch rankings curently
4:05 what i stuck down for race prediction as well as on the entry
4:00:31 fetch predicted time based off of my 10k WAVA
3:59:59 sub 4 but not quite fast enough to pip CY
3:59:32 is Canary Yellow's time - For the sake of bnoth of us i had best not equal it wink_smiley.gif
    3:59:31 faster than CY wink_smiley.gif
    3:55 sub 9 pace
3:30 longer term goal which wont be happening any time soon wink_smiley.gif

My guess is somewhere between current PB and 4 hours, probably 4:05ish but we'll see in 48 hours time. Probably start of around 9 min miling and see how it goes. Being its traffic free i might sort out a uplifting playlist for the Ipod to help.

Annoying thing is none of my current PB's are as accurate as they should be as i know i am capable of faster on all the classic distances.

    4:34:34 :T:T:T (First half 2:05:01, Second half 2:29:33)

Very well done, KMS. We all know how tough it was yesterday so no doubt you're pleased enough with that result!:D

    morning all
i can understand what rfl are trying to do but i think that rich raises valid pionts that suggest they are shooting themselves in the foot. you dont want to be alienating 50% of the population who (like me) have lost several family members to breast cancer. also i know i chap at work who got it and suffered greatly for many months....ok now!

anyway, well done to those that braved the heat....

    moving on......

i am off today and want to go for a NICE long run in the capital.
    your suggestions greatly appreciated.
i live by oval tube but i am happy to travel.....maybe hyde park?? or south somewhere??

    looking to do about 12k.

    best suggestion wins a prize......

Hyde park will be lovely today - let me just map one for you (I never save mine ;))...brb

Here you go a tour of three parks - some nice hills but nothing too crazy and lots of shade and stopping points for the loo should you need it:

Its looks strange but just enter from Hyde Park Corner and follow the main paths :D

    Enjoy!
