OMG Sammy what on earth were you doing out of bed at 4.30 in the morning?
Morning everyone else, didn't post the link for my mersey tunnel 10k yesterday but thought you could all do with a laugh today. I just have to point out though, that the dog did not run it, he just hogged the limelight at the end! You'll understand once you've seen the foties

Well hello all, I'm sorry for being a poor supporter of you all but I just don't seem to be able to follow all the progress every day!
Anyway well done everyone with all you're doing.
My current progress is:
Did the Race for Life in Rhyl on Sunday, stupidly didn't take any water round and it was very hot! I managed to do a PB of 27:40 so not too disheartened but I reckon I could have improved further if I had a drink.:o
I did 4 miles yesterday and felt fab, I do have a major goal to aim for but I'm not saying what it is until I have some good training behind me! My next race is hopefully going to be a 10km in the next village to me on 21st June.
Hope you are all well, Ev x0 -

Fantastic time on your RFL, wish I could do 5k in under 30 mins, but I will get there eventually
Good luck on 21 JuneToo much month, not enough Cash!

I normally start off too quickly and suffer later on but I made a determined effort to stick to a steady pace and gradually work my way through. I starrted with the joggers as I couldn't get to the front but I think that helped me set the pace in the end.0

KM that marathon sound like hell on earth!! I have a friend who also did it and she said pretty much the same as you did regarding water etc. Well done on a great time considering the conditions!
Went to run club last night and apart from struggling in the blistering heat, no knee pain at all? Weird how it comes and goes but I shall be trying to do some intervals tonight
Sammy, do you not sleep woman!I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Fantastic write up KMS  Though perhaps an innapropriate smiley given the lack of liquid
Sounds like a good RFL there evab and a time to be proud of. I've broken 30 mins (just) but never as fast as that.
Edit:
Just had this like through on runners world twitter feed - http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/news/article.asp?UAN=492 It covers running in the heat and does suggest a cap (given the chat at the weekend)...! I can read it as a non-subscriber (but registered on the site) so should be available to all.0 -

A gentle distance run this evening with a lung busting hilly race to look forward to tomorrow evening!
It has certainly been quiet on here today, glad everyone is out and about enjoying the pleasures of an English summer!:D:D
KMS - Interesting race account but a pre-race diet of pasties, beer and ice cream followed by post race multiple cheese burgers? Your poor stomach!!;)
Evab - Nice to see you back!:D Good 5k time there. Best of luck on the 21st!
Krider - Another solid run, that consistency will pay off over time.
