I've got back to where I was. Wednesday's run - just over half a mile and Friday's run two thirds of a mile. Aiming to beat that this weekend.

Went for a run this morning and added another road making total distance run two thirds of a mile. Will try to get to the three-quarter mile mark by end of week.

Inspired by Great Manchester run I've signed up for the Lancaster 10 miler (Aug), Half Marathon (Nov) and luckily managed to get a charity place in the Great North Run in Sept :T

Just need to work on my speed now - I can do 10 miles comfortably(ish) and did a run on Thursday with a few hills in 1hr 35 but would like to work towards doing the 10 miler in 70-80 mins but I'm not sure if that would be achievable?

Apart from having a humourous name, what is fartleks all about? Spotted it as a type of run on MapMayRun but goodness knows what it is and if I should be doing it?!

    Sorry got distracted yesterday :D

Went out to wimbledon but clearly despite feeling better am not up to running too much at the mo - warmed up for the 5k and ran most of the first lap but was on for 30 minutes and was just winding myself up so quit and watched the finishers instead ;)

Am feeling very tired today (did about 7 miles of walking yesterday and lots of tube journeys) so have let Rich go out for a long run while I get some energy back...going to go out for a short one tomorrow but freckleton is going to be tough in 4 weeks time me thinks - hopefully I'll be well enough to run it even if its not pb time :D

    Happy running all!

    energy, what's that

I've done my ironing though.......took me two days to do it, so that must be the equivalent of a half marathon at least

Hi guys. Didn't manage to achieve anymore walking this week as my trainer shopping was postponed due to my kitty having a stroke. :( Good news is it was a fairly minor one and she is already pottering about (in a slightly lopsided way). The vet ran lots of (expensive) blood tests and apparantly apart from the stroke she is extremely healthy for her age. 16 years old and no signs of any kidney or liver problems or anything! A good recovery is expected which means returning to my walking plan! Ordered some trainers online last night which should arrive in a couple of days. :j

Have a great bank holiday everyone!

Morning everyone, looks like anther scorcher today. Well done on all the efforts over the weekend.:D

Had a reasonabe run in the Parkrun on Saturday but the increase n speedwork over the last few weeks is catching up so theres a bit of a consolidation period going on at the moment.

Yesterday's 20.75 miler around Battersea was hot, really hot, so I finished in a rather dehydrated state and drank like a fish yesterday evening. In fine fettle this morning though.:D

We're just setting off to watch the Bupa 10000 - can't resist the opportunity to see two Olympic champions in action and the prospect of probably seeing a sub 27:30 road 10K!:D
